We have eaten here last trip and booked 2 nights this time, first and last night. The soups are perfect: well seasoned, delicious. The ox cheeks are my favorite and the chicken paprika is better than I have had anywhere. the servers are all wine experts with excellent recommendations, order by the glass to go with each course, there are... We booked our table at Bock and yet we were shown to the worst two seated table in the restaurant. The waiters were very distant from us - they didn't read us the specials (all in Hungarian so we couldn't read them) but we heard them reading them out to every other guest around us after we had already ordered... They were able to accommodate us as a walk in for lunch... and we were thrilled. The food, the wine, the service! We were okay dressed casually as it was lunch but I would dress more for dinner.

There are two Bock Bistros in Budapest; one in Buda one in Pest. We visited the one in Pest The restaurant food is exquisite, imaginative and definitely Hungarian, but with an international flare. They make and sell a bread spread made with the fat and the bacon from Magalica pigs, raised only in Hungary and famous for their tenderness. The... More

The qouse liver was from out of this world as well as the rest of the cuisine. I also loved their wines as well as the way they serve and take care of the wine. A must see if in Budapest!

Two Bock Bistros in Budapest, one in Buda one in Pest. Been to both, loved the one in Pest. Small and sophisticated, owned by the largest winery in Hungary (Bock), the restaurant food is exquisite, imaginative and definitely Hungarian, but with an international flare. The food was good and the service was also good but it lacked the little extra, maybe we had expected a bit more creativity. Since we had read really good reviews of the place we had very high expectation and although the food was good it was not very special and it just did not live up to our expectations..

We first visited it within day's of it opening for the first time and in all our visits we have never been disappointed in the food, service or pricing. Every meal has been better than anticipated.
