This was quite an experience! We ordered a plate for two, with 6 different meats, some fruits and vegetables and two kinds of potatoes. You only get a spoon and knife, and we used neither! ;) It was quite fun to eat with just your hands, and my boyfriend liked the fact that he could just wipe his hands on... More

A place I have attended several times in the past. since I arrived alone, there was no table in the cellar, where the restaurant really shows its medieval features. I was offered a table upstairs. I was sitting alone, but I had to share the table with two other guests. On arrival, he waiter offered a local brandy. It was... More

Came to this restaurant because of Trip advisor as it was in easy walking distance from our hotel and it had a good rating. On arrival we were greeted by a young lady dressed like serving wench and were told we could go straight down to the restaurant which was in the cellar. All the waiters and servers were dressed... The atmosphere was great. Everything made out to be medieval. No forks as promised and a lot of food on the plates. Had the plate for two and it could easily have served four people. The meat was very tender and the vegetables and potatoes (several versions) was excellent. Highly recommendable for an evening out. Will definitely go back if... More

as soon as you walk in, you travel back to the middle ages. the restaurant is situated in a basement on a Budapest high street. Being in the basement, you enter a whole new world. Ambience is amazing. The food is fantastic and the prices very affordable. we were lucky to have a knives show in front of our eyes.... More

Coming from France we have been to this restaurant on the advice of a touristic guide. We have been really surprised cause we did not know what to expect. The atmosphere of the room, the candlelight, the menu written on false parchement, and the fact of not having forks to eat was funny. The meals were more than correct, we... More

This is not the sort of restaurant to expect gourmet food - but if you want good, wholesome food with generous portions, it's well worth a try. I was very sceptical because it is a gimmick - but the food was amazing. I had venison in bacon and my partner had hare. Both excellent and I went away full (takes... More
