Saviour restaurant for a vegetarian

Superb home cooked kinda Indian food is what you will be served here. Nothing fancy but wholesome and tasty food in large quantities were dished out on a daily basis. Out of 10 days stay in Budapest, I ate for 6 days here. We loved the simplicity, cleanliness and food here. The only thing missing... read more

Just one street off the beaten track, Govida is completely worth seeking out to grab a delicious veggie lunch with an Indian (or a Hungarian in the form of főzelék) twist. The place is simple, buffet style, straightforward and there isn't a huge selection, but you will really not be disappointed by the flavoursome food - possibly the best lunch... More

arrived in Budapest wanting lunch - read about it in the Budapest Guide and was delighted by the food. Lovely, vegetarian Indian food, plentiful, tasty, hot and great value for money. Not sure if it was open in the evening - get the feeling that it's a "daytime" eatery but was delicious.

I eat there once a week because of delicious vegetarian dishes, especially subjis and dhals. Nice and fast service, good prices. You listen to bhajan music during your dinner, you can slow down and relax in the middle of the city.

Most of the food was great. Not everything seems to be for vegans although it was an establishment that seemed to be aiming for that market. The place itself was a bit cheezy.

Not the best food ever but was decent for the price. Only 2 vegan options when I visited. Place is a bit cheezy.

A very positive experience - friendly service, otherwordly ambience and surprisingly good food, affordable prices even for locals, central location next to the Chain Bridge. Vegetarian and vegan foods separate. By the way, I am a true carnivore, and it felt like a refreshing break from finally eating something that seemingly doesn't mind being eaten. Or am I wrong? Highly... More

If you are looking for delicious and hearty vegetarian and vegan Indian restaurants in Budapest, this is an excellent choice! The place is not fancy but has a very warm and nice atmosphere with Vedic (Krishna) music. Plus there is a small shop inside, where you can buy incense sticks, handmade irganic soaps, books, clothes, spices and many more!

Great vegan and vegetarian dishes, based on Indian foods. We had the plate for two with different dishes combined. I loved ALL of them. My partner; not a vegan nor vegetarian himself was also very taken with this meal. If we had been staying longer in Budapest...we would have gone here much more often, for sure! Great find!
