Outstanding Italian food in Budapest

Hands down - simply wonderful. The focaccia was baked fresh, the Tuscan sausage is heavenly, and the olives are a burst of flavor. We had the mozzarella ravioli and the baked penne - along with a pizza for a midnight snack. With drinks it came to roughly 70 dollars U.S. - extremely reasonable.

Very nice Italian restaurant. Unless you stumbled upon this restaurant you wouldn't know it is there as it is off the beaten track. Ate here twice on a long weekend break to Budapest as it was right next to our hotel. Fabulous pizza and pasta. Décor and atmosphere very nice. We had a table on the balcony upstairs which was... We came here to eat and were fortunate to get the last free table. Pasta was perfectly al dente and filling, actually we couldn't finish our portions. We left with full stomachs and happy.

Always busy, my husband and I found this place right next to our hotel. We'd heard good things about it and were not disappointed! The pizzas were huge, wafer thin and very tasty. The salad starters were generous, and not overpriced. Staff were friendly. I'd definitely recommend it!

We had two pasta dishes and one pizza for three. Definitely too much food. Carbonara was superb and mushroom pasta with cream sauce was delicious - sauce has perfect consistent. Service was very good. We were in the basement which was quaint. Recommend to make reservations if you want to sit upstairs.

Found this place last night and they serve lovely Italian food -pasta/pizza and meats. Servings sizes are good and value excellent. Staff very attentive and lovely atmosphere. Not a hint of "chain food"- so if you want a great independent dinner or lunch out- TRY HERE!

Not as nice as any of the other places we ate at and not the cheapest either. The starters we had (seafood salad and beef carpaccio) were really good but the mains were a let down. My ravioli main was such a small portion which was ok for me but only because I had a starter and wasn't particularly hungry... More

We were in the area visiting Szimpla Kert and come time for our evening meal we were looking for something slightly more formal than a bar meal in the pub. Trip advisor threw up decent reviews of this restaurant and we were only five minutes away. The main room on the ground floor is attractive but as we had no... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
