Budapest is full of good restaurants. Unfortunately, most of the tourists just prefer to dine in Pest. They miss an incredibly good restaurant in Buda, Csalogany 26. We tried the wine-pairing menu. This is just gorgeous The food was excellent (elaborated Hungarian cuisine) and the (Hungarian) wine selection that accompanies every dish is just amazing. Before my visit to Hungary,... More

We had one of the most lovely dinners of our lives here. The food was delicious, fresh and perfectly prepared. We both had the 4 course meal and it was a good amount of food. While this is not in-expensive, it was an excellent value given the elegant courses and professional staff. If we visit Budapest again, we will certainly... More

Very poor atmoshere at good restaurant. Modern hungarian kitchen. Problematical ambience. Very good degustation menu. Staff is good at work. Recommend you to visit at the time of lunch

We were here with a group of friends for dinner celebrating ones birthday. We went for a shortened four course meal with the assorted vine selection. The concept is nice and the food is also an experience, however the service is not up to such standards. There is little interaction with the waiters and the presentation lacks personality. I was... The place is very nice, staff pleasant, but didn't ask once whether everything was OK. Food slightly above average, not amazing. The unbelievable part was, when we were offered a homemade lemonade and I swear we got the stuff you make out of a Berocca tablet (that kind of multivitamin that disolves in water) I even took a picture, because... This is a little noce place, not big and looks modest. You have to know about it to find it. But it is definitively worth a visit. This will become a Micheline star sooner than later. It is opened as many good hungarian reataurants just from 12-15 and 19-22. Would refpmmend booking in the weekends. It has only two menues,... More

We went here Saturday for lunch. While the lunch menu is a steal at around $20 for three courses, we decided that we liked the 4 course menu better. The restaurant was very flexible on allowing us to order from the two prix fixe menus offered. We had two bottles of wine, two sparking water bottles, two four course meals... More

We've visited Csalogany 26 two times over the past two years, and, besides the fact that the food is really excellent and the service is great, very attentive and informative, the price tag for this place still astonishes me: 4 excellent courses with accompanying wine menu, for around 30 euro. No wonder the place has, rightfully, a rising star in... More

We tried the 8 course degustation menu and it was really amazing. I could not imagine, that anyone can prepare a gourmet course from fried chicken... They did it! Their homemade bread and butter is also delicious, which is good, because you need them if you don't want to remain hungry. The courses are quite small, but their taste compensates... More

A very pleasing degustation experience with good service and interesting wines. Although eight courses offered they are typically small and tasty - wines seem to be equal or dominant ranking in the presentation. Two menus on offer to choose from - and either can be four or eight courses. This is good stuff executed with proficiency if not passion and... More
