Very good value for money

We had lunch at the restaurant and choosed the 3 course menu from the blackboard. Service was very good, food was exactly what expected. I recommend this place for fine dining at reasonable prices

In a dull complex of condos just below Matyaschurch on the Budaside this lovely little testaurant is located. The diningroom is not fancy but intimate. 38 seats available (when we were there on a Thursday 30 of them were occupied! Food was well coocked and presented nicely. We had the eight course meny in two different ways with eight different... More

This is a "hidden" gem among restaurants in Budapest. Located in Csalogány utca 26 on the Buda side of Budapest; not far from Batthyány Tér. They serve two 8 courses menues, which are very, very good. We ordered different Hungarian white wines to accompany the food, recommended by the sommelier. This was delicious and very tasteful. Well worth a visit.

We loved the care, attention and good service at this place. We all took menu nr. II with 8 dishes + the matching wine menu (7 different wines). The local wines were well introduced by the sommelier and they tasted really good apart from one. All matched though the respective dish. Food was quite good; only some could have had... More

How this restaurant does not have a Michelin Star I shall never know! The food was absolutely amazing (we did the 8 course tasting menu with wine pairing) and the staff service was impeccable. They were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. All (I think) wines were Hungarian which was interesting having only tried a couple of Hungarian wines before and the... More

Sometimes restaurants that sport Michelin Bib Gourmand ratings live up to the promise, and sometimes they don't. Our visit to Csalogany 26 gave us a new standard of expectation for Red Bib restaurants. In short, it was a total treat, a memorable 8-course luncheon with accompanying flight of Hungarian wines. The variety of seafood and other dishes was impressive, the... More

We went here for lunch and have the 4 courses with wine pairing. Reasonable priced and very knowledgable staff. The food itself was excellent and the wines really complimented the various dishes. I can highly recommend this restaurant and we will come back here in May.

This is really nice restaurant. I heard the story that chef is going to the local food market every morning, checking the freshest ingredients and based on that preparing menu for that particular day. And menu is always great. I've been there a few times and was always satisfied. Meals are not large so if you are looking for a... More

Such a small and simple restaurant in a uncharming area - and yet the best restaurant experience I have had for a long time. The food was absolutely wonderful. We had four exciting courses, gifts from the chef and a glasses of rosé wine, I will not forget for some time - at a very reasonable price. Lamb and steak,... More

We have long wanted to try Csalogány 26 and now we finally did. Wow, we should have come here earlier. We tried both menus (8 courses each) and I have to say both were just flawless. I really liked that nothing about Csalogány 26 was pretentious while the dishes were really exquisite both in terms of raw material quality and... More
