Highly recommend this place if you want a break from the Goulash & Snitzel in Budapest. We had an amazing 4 course tasting menu meal with matching wines. The staff were friendly & fun, very flexible, we all mixed and matched from their selection. Great evening. Very Reasonably priced. My only regret was getting the cheese plate at the end... More

The restaurant is located in the residential part of Buda. The interior is very simple but the food and the service are excellent. Very tasty courses and fantastic Hungarian wines. Even the four courses menu is fair enough.

We visited this restaurant based on some previous Trio advisor reviews and are very glad we did! You definitely need to book as it was full when we were there! The food was amazing, very flavoursome, well presented and the staff were extremely tentative! We chose the wine pairing and Were pleasantly surprised, every wine complimented the food and the... I was in Budapest for business and my hosts invited me here. The decor is very simple, sown might say even depressing. But be sure to overlook it and concentrate on the food. I've been to many restaurants where the decor is fancy and even the food looks great but the taste is only so so. Here the food makes... More

This is quality food. Ignore what others say about the decor and concentrate on the food. We recently had the 8 course lunch and it was the best food we have had in Budapest and we have been here 3 years. Portions were a perfect size and we didn't feel over full at the end. Dishes were delicately flavoured and... More

Best food, great service and down to earth atmosphere. We ordered a four course dinner and got spoiled with one delicious piece of food followed by the other. Our mouths was satisfied and happily cherished. Lot of taste and well balanced.. Observant professional services. Not to much and to little. I would like to come back here..

I'd have to say this restaurant offered some of the best food I've eaten in Budapest - and was reasonably priced to boot. The presentation and taste of the food were superb. The claim is that the menu is governed by what fresh produce is available at the time - this would appear to hold true. But you also need... More

I went to csalogany following the suggestion of a travel guide. I was there with my wife. We have a very good dinner. Duck liver and tartare are absolutely amazing. Atmosphere is nice. Waiters are very kind and friendly. Absolutely to try!!

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
