Highly Recommended

I'm a local and work quite close to Csalogany 26. I usually visit them with my colleagues 1-2 times a week. Their lunch menu is always seriously good and worth the value (2500Ft for 3 courses), but today's menu was exceptional. It was the best risotto I've ever had. I'm glad to have such an... read more

We took the 2nd menu, which was a bit more expensive: 18.500 HUF including the wine, but it was a great gastronomical journey through 8 meals. Natural flavours with spectacular service. Thank you!

Fine dining a bit off the beaten track in a modest looking residential area. We had the big menu with the wine package and was overall very happy. Some of the taste combinations were fantastic, and the quality was high all the way through! As can be expected, not all 10ish courses (including extras) were perfectly to our liking, and... More

We have heard about this restaurant at the bottom of old Buda. We have taken the 8-course surprise menu with pairing wines. The menu cost Huf 13.000 and the pairing wines Huf 5.500. As read before the place is modest and look like a neighbourhood restaurant, no thrills. So you could concentrate on the meal. With the small amuses it... More

The restaurant has a good reputation, but I can't honestly understand the hype around it. The place is modest, but still quite nice, the servers looked disappointed by our 4-courses menu choice, but I was not feeling very well and didn't wanto to eat too much. As it went on it was the right choice: food wasn't bad but totally... More

I read about this restaurant online and we decided to give it a try. It's a little far from the beaten path, but not so far that it's difficult to reach if you're a tourist. The inside of the restaurant is very unassuming but simply nice and the food is where all the flavor is!! The wines were amazing, selected... More

We arrived in the late afternoon, were very tired of walking around and the restaurant was about to close for a couple of hours and they still let us in: just great! Food was just excellent, local wines the same quality and the staff friendly! And the price level is reasonable. So what are you waiting - catch a plane... More

Excellent romantic dinner with my wife. Relaxing setting, impeccable service. Being 2, we selected 4 dishes of each menu and shared 8 excellent and original dishes. The duck liver and magyar beef were a bit under-cooked, so we asked to cook them more and those came book totally to our taste (so don't be shy to request more cooking). The... More

My boyfriend and I got the 4 course tasting menu where you can chose any of 4 of the 8 courses of one of two menus and they did not disappoint! Between us we had the tomato mousse, duck consomme (our least favourite out of a good bunch), salmon, sea bream, rabbit and mille-feuille. It had the general feel of... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
