WELL WORTH A VISIT

Very convenient for the hotel we stayed in, the K+K Opera. Food was very good and the excellent musicians and opera singer were an added bonus during our visit. Reasonably priced.

First off, by Hungarian standards, this is an expensive restaurant. By US standards, you could pay the same at an Outback Steakhouse, for much less interesting food. This is like eating at a much fancier restaurant in the US, but with larger portions and Outback prices. The prices are comparable to touristy restaurants along the Danube and Váci, but the... More

Enjoyed a pleasant evening dinner with a 3 piece combo playing very nice music. Food was very good and the beer, Hungarian, was even better. Right across from the entrance to the Opera House and across the boulevard from an underground station.

Looked very nice from the outside, I had well over 50 minutes to have breakfast before departing for a bike tour (literally right round the corner) I was however very late for my tour due to slow service. I ordered the Hungarian Scrambled Eggs which were very watery and not well seasoned. Also the "English" Breakfast tea tasted like swiss... More

Overrated restaurant. The food is ordinary and it is definitely not worth the price. Probably a place just for a coffee.

This is a nice café with historic 19th century interior décor. We had great selection of cakes to choose from and enjoyed those we chose. The staff were a bit reluctant and slow to respond. Not enthusiastic staff. There was a Gypsy Orchestra which were delightfully enthusiastic for us and demonstrated the cimbalom which was new to us. Great fun.

Very good restaurant. Food was delicious and waiters were very attentive. I will go back. There were four couples on our group and we all order something different. Each meal was outstanding.

Just dropped by for a quick coffee and beer before going into the Opera House. Sat ourselves down since the staff showed little interest. Eventually menus were given and orders taken. Beer and coffee were okay. Nice outside area to sit in with views of the Opera House and surrounding streets. Slow to give bill when asked. Staff happier to... More

We were staying for several days in Budapest at the 4 Star K&K Hotel Opera, which is a few doors down from the palatial State Opera House. On our first evening we were tired and didn't want to wander far from our hotel to find a restaurant. Heading around the corner to the Andressy utca (the main shopping street) we... More

We found ourselves a table outside the cafe under the awning, sat down and waited for service. The waiters stand in a group together chatting and watching customers, which is always off putting, but on this occasion a waiter stormed up to us uncharacteristically promptly, telling us that the table we were sitting at - which was empty apart from...
