Good food service and entertainment

Situated right next to Budapest Opera House, Callas is a great place for a good night out. We ate good food and loved the live music , violin , piano bass and cello- so much that we returned. Next time we had a full Hungarian show, dancing singing and music. A tour group was there for dinner but... read more

Not the cheapest option in Budapest but still not expensive considering US standards. They had lovely live music when we were there. My mother had pork gypsy style and it was fantastic. My boyfriend had ox cheek which he liked and I had veal paprika. The inside is very pretty. They had good desserts too.

We ate here twice. Great choice ,well cooked food but the high light was the music. SUPERB !My food experience in Budapest was mixed, lunches were good evening meals less so but Callas was consistently good one or two of the others I would not rush back to!

After a wonderful "Segway" tour of the city we wandered looking for lunch. This place was great and opposite beautiful Opera building. Just the right touch of high quality and professional friendliness. I had the best beef steak ever here. And I eat out a lot! It was a Hungarian speciality and just delicious .sitting outside watching the world go... More

There was some great lively and classical music being played with a bit of opera thrown in... More

Outstanding atmosphere, great food, outstanding service. It is adjacent to the opera house, and this evening, we had it pretty much to ourselves.

Great location and nice outdoor dining. But good luck getting a server. Ate here 3x. Once for afternoon espresso and sweets, which was lovely. Once for dinner while an ensemble and singer performed in the main dining room. And once for dessert after a meal somewhere else. They do charge a service charge, which we did not encounter most places... More

What a treat it was to discover this wonderful, elegant bar restaurant next to the opera House. There was a live classical quartet that oozed charm and sophistication. Not cheap but a must on anyone's itinerary to Budapest.
