A nice lunch by the Danube

The service was somewhat on the slow side, but the food was prepared with a lot of heart. Our favourite was their goulash. It's a nice place to dine in if you had enough time to spare.

We decided to eat here as we'd failed to find the restaurant we were looking for, The basement room was sparse, but reasonably full, and the welcome was warm and efficient. I chose the burrata to start, Maybe this was a great example of a Hungarian burrata but having had soft, melty, fresh tasting cheese in good italian restaurants in... More

My wife and i wife were there for dinner. Gibberish starter was very nice, e wine was also good. For the main course, rabbit leg was OK, and the pork chops were very good Service was a little slow for no obvious reason

We fell across this restaurant as it was near the apartment we were renting, and on the boulevard with a beautiful view of the Parliament building across the Danube. To our delight the food was absolutely marvellous. Making a fine display on the plate, it tasted even better. Nouvelle cuisine, my friend complained that the portions weren't very large, but... My girlfriend and I visited here back in November and absolutely fell in love with the place, so much so we dined there three times in a week. The food, the wine list and the location are all perfect. We decided this summer we would travel around Europe and come back to Budapest because of how magical the city is... More

I almost let a small number of other reviewers dissuade me from visiting this restaurant. We walked by with the intent to just take a look and decide. Well, we decided to give it a try and were BOTH very happy we did. Service was attentive and excellent. Food was delightful. Sunset showing on parliament was priceless. We shared a... More

We chose inside rather than street-side, and inside is a lovely vaulted-ceiling cellar. Great service, very good food. They obviously excel at fine meats. We also had a little burrata for an appetizer--we make mozzarella professionally, and this was very good. We thought this restaurant, along with my favoriten Macesz Bistro, were the most authentic and delicious fine dining we... More

Very good food and service. Local hamburger with unique slaw type topping and spices and filet mignon both excellent. Great selection of Hungarian wines. Great view of Parliment house.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
