great quality food and excellent beer selection

A very nice place and very affordable. Excellent Hungarian food, come early or make a reservation, this place fills up fast! A little funky on the outside, but very nice and pleasant on the inside. I'll go back every time I am in Budapest!

We had only drinks here as this was the place with Belgian beers. Largest list of Belgian beers in one place for sure! Location is convenient and easy to access. Music was not too loud but still loud enough that you can't hear what other people are talking about and yet you can here that everyone is having a good... More

The fact that this restaurant us next door to our hotel may have led us to go the first time, but we enjoyed the place so much we went back again. First there is an incredible selection of beers, and a very good selection on tap - but we had wine, a very small selection but a good one ,... More

On the Buda side of the Danube. You have to go down to steps to enter the restaurant, but it is very roomy inside. The food was excellent with a good selection of wines and beers. Very helpful staff.

Great restaurant right on the front of the Danube, the restaurant doesn't look much from the outside and could be easily missed. The staff were very friendly and managed to get us a table although they were busy and we hadn't reserved a table. Food was to an exceptional standard. The beer list was never ending, perhaps too much to... More

Visited with friends on a very wet Saturday afternoon in September ànd this place cheered us up mo end. Fab selection of Belgian beers we played safe with Gallica on draught which was exçellent. Tried the peasants platter which complimented the beer perfectly. Would highly recommend if you like and appreciate excellent beer.

The philosophy of the place is evident "we don’t offer you drink to the meal, but the opposite, we offer meal to the drink". We tried the 1 meter beer tasting, then most of us decided to go on with either Kwak or Corsendonk Rousse. Meals are mid-priced, and above average, but not extraordinary. One of the waitresses was really... More

We ate at the Belgian Brassierie a couple of times whilst staying in Budapest. Although is specializes in Belgian beers, the staff and the food were Hungarian. All the staff spoke good English. It looks quite small when you first come upon it, but inside it is very roomy and it also has a raised decking area to the front... More

Very nice food, and lots and lots of different Belgian beers. The food is not real Belgian, but good international food. I had a real good meal here. The Belgian refers more on the beers. Although in Hungary, this is a nice restaurant to visit. I recommend it.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
