Description: Dionysos moved to the Pest bank of the River Danube on New Year's Eve 1993 and has since delighted the dwellers of our city with delicacies of Greek cuisine and delicious wine of its vineyards. The air is filled with the fragrance of char-grilled meats and fishes, fresh-cut vegetables and crispy-baked homestyle bread. Thanks to the friendly atmosphere, diners chit-chat casually around the tables, which blends pleasantly into the melodies of Greek music playing in the background. It is good to be in this restaurant. The pampering feeling of authentic entertainment accompanies the guests from the moment they enter up until they leave. We hope you visit us soon so that we may entertain you for a few hours here in little Greece of Budapest!

We had to book a day ahead but it was totally worth it. As soon as you arrive you have the feeling you're on a Greek island, probably Santorini. The view you have on the river and on the castle is also worth mentioning. The food is typical Greek and extremely tasty. I can only recommend such a restaurant although... More

By coincidence my first lunch in Budapest was not Hungarian but Greek! I intentionally did not want to enjoy a meal in the overpriced restaurants at Vaci street. While walking back from the Freedom Bridge, in Northerly direction along the Donau river to my hotel, I found this Taverna. The guests enjoying their food and drinks outdoor in the sun... More

We booked a table for this restaurant since they had such great reviews here on TripAdvisor, but I must say, for a top-ten restaurant, we were a bit disappointed. The volume in here is really loud, although that is not entirely their fault, and the food was average. Yes, my leg of lamb was very tender, but nothing special. My... More

We really enjoyed visiting this restaurant on Wednesday evening. The staff were very welcoming, great service and the food was excellent - we will certainly return to the Taverna when we return to Budapest.

So, I arrived in Budapest this afternoon-had no idea where to go for dinner-so, of course I relied on TA for advice! It just so happened this place was only 10 min walk from my hotel and I love Greek food! Went to Santorini 2yrs ago and have wanted to get back here ever since. Well, Taverna Dionysos was just... We enjoyed a really nice meal at the Dyonisos. The bifteki and the handmade lemonade were wonderful. Service was outstanding and decoration very nice.

Spent a week in Budapest and this was the best restaurant we we visited. Food was very good, service was spot on and the waiter really fun. The place was packed too. The outdoor seating was just being set up the first week of April so we didn't get a chance to sit outside on the banks of the Danube... More

good atmosphere, friendly waiters, tasty food, inexpensive, clean restaurant... only the service was very slow, but since we were tourists and had time, it wasn't such a problem :) i definitely recommend it!

The restaurant has 4 levels, each slightly different to the other, the restaurant was heaving but as we booked we had a lovely table on the top floor. Our waiter was very pleasant and spoke good English. Our starters were fantastic, the calamari and the halloumi were personal favourites, along with the complimentary homemade bread and chick pea dip. On... More
