Description: Dionysos moved to the Pest bank of the River Danube on New Year's Eve 1993 and has since delighted the dwellers of our city with delicacies of Greek cuisine and delicious wine of its vineyards. The air is filled with the fragrance of char-grilled meats and fishes, fresh-cut vegetables and crispy-baked homestyle bread. Thanks to the friendly atmosphere, diners chit-chat casually around the tables, which blends pleasantly into the melodies of Greek music playing in the background. It is good to be in this restaurant. The pampering feeling of authentic entertainment accompanies the guests from the moment they enter up until they leave. We hope you visit us soon so that we may entertain you for a few hours here in little Greece of Budapest!

We were very hungry late at night and we were desperate. We asked our cab driver of any nice restaurants and he recommended this one. We came late and there plenty of seats this time at night. All four of us were very pleased with our dishes although the portions were a bit big to my mind. The restuarant itself... More

The food was good and nicely presented, but it took about 40 minutes just to take our orders. And no, the place was not packed yet. We waited a long time for everything including the bill. The waiters were chatting to each other not minding the guests, never making eye contact, chewing gum. First I honestly thought they were nibbling... More

In a city lacking in international options other than Italian, Dionysos is an acceptable alternative. Nice to sit outside in summer and good with groups, just don't expect very inspired or original Greek cuisine.

This place was OK but the food was pretty average. Great location, slow service. I had some very overcooked veal indeed. Starters were, again, nothing special but adequate, as was the moussaka.

Walking through the centre of Pest there are a lot of restaurants, most of them, clearly "touristic" places. Taverna Dionysos is completely different. Placed directly at the Danube quai, but sitting inside is also very nice and put you . Good food, good glass of wine, I shall sure come back there!

This was the first place I went for lunch in Budapest, so I can't compare with others. Nevertheless, I think the food was quite tasty, the service was very good, and the price reasonable. We specially recommend the starter with several pieces of cold dishes and the traditional musaka. We unfortunately did not have time to try any of the... More

More Greek than Greek itself. Food and service absolutely superb. Price was some 20€ (souvlaki, few beers and dessert) and fully worth it! Go and enjoy.

Came across this Greek restaurant unexpectedly as we were searching out a near bye TA rated Hungarian restaurant; the latter was completely empty whilst the Taverna was so busy we wondered if they would have a spare table. The food was excellent. The waiters were very helpful even to the extent on advising us not to order any sides as... More

This is a great restaurant...the food is really really good, the service excellent. We had a child in our party and he was given a gift-something to play with. The ladies were given a flower each at the end of the visit. Nice touch Setbacks: 1) the atmosphere in the second floor isn't as good as the first two floors... More
