Fish'n'ice-cream, a tasty and chic combination in a trendy neighborhood

Le Bourbon, the elegant French restaurant of Le Méridien Budapest, is located right on the busy fashion street. I had some fabulous Tournedos of salmon, shallots and violet onion samosa, buttered mashed potato and chive ice cream. The food and service really live up to the hotel’s name.

I am writing this review based on my recent experience with their Friday Night Hungarian buffet with Gypsy Music. So disappointed in the entire buffet that I won't attempt an individual critique of each choice. Don't believe the hotel recommendation as this is not a good experience if you are looking for great food.

While the food was fine, it did not feel authentic and more like hotel food. I'd highly recommend heading out of the hotel for meals, as there are a lot of great options nearby.

Saw this place was recommended in the Michelin guide so assumed the food would be of a fairly high standard. Staff were friendly but we noticed a couple of tables who arrived after us getting served their drinks first. When we asked we were told they had forgotten about us. Not off to the best start. We both ordered the... More

Restaurant and atmosphere are nice and comfortable. Located inside Le Meridien Hotel. Good staff, normal cuisine. Wasn't expecting anything more than what I had.

I stop by just to have a quick dinner. And it was a really good decision. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff and very tasty dishes. I spent a pleasant time here and will definitely come to this place again.

My friends and I had a terrific evening when the restaurant had a Hungarian theme. There was a small orchestra in the dining room playring classical music, and from time to time Hungarian dancers came out in the dining area and danced and entertained us. For a certain price you could eat and drink as much as you wanted to.... More

We were very late in visiting Le Bourbon for Sunday brunch last year and were determined to rectify that this time. It was very worth doing as the food was wonderful both in presentation and taste. Together with the buffet there were also dishes to choose which were then prepared freshly by chefs. On being seated we were offered Hungarian... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
