Excellent as always

We were in the Osteria cause the main restaurant was closed for refurbishment. We had the five course menu again with wine pairing. My wife had to stop drink cause of recent illness and her stomach was not ready for alcohol yet, this was no problem for the waiters. The service, food and waiters... read more

Fausto's Osteria, the more casual sister restaurant of upscale and pricy “Fausto’s”, with which it shares a common entrance, is one of the places I always take business partners and visitors. I know I can rely on the Osteria that the food is always of top quality and that all my guests find something to their taste. The reception is... More

I had a dinner with my girlfriend. The waiters were polite, they knew about the food. We ate minestrone salmon and dorado. The food was perfectly balanced, very fresh and tasty. The wine of the house was exceptional too-pinot gris. I would definitely recommend the restaurant!

The food was one of the best in my life so far, everything was very delicous and the waiter was very helpful and patient. Not a cheap restaurant, but it worth a try!

For some reason Faust's appears twice so I am leaving this review for the Osteria on both pages. I chose the Osteria over the restaurant as it's a little less formal than the restaurant. The food is very high quality, service is brilliant and they have an excellent wine list. We had a very dignified dinner with a stag party... More

The dishes on this restaurant are delicious and very special. The portions aren't big but satisfying. And the atmosphere is very pleasant.Only thing I would have changed if I could is the high price of the service (27%). But overall it was great experience.

Our part comprised three well travelled and dined middle aged men. This was our second evening in Budapest and we were looking forward to this meal. We were not disappointed. An aperitif of Apperol Spritz fortified us for the detailed consideration of the menu. Starters of Veal Ravioli with truffles (excellent) and King Prawns with a red cabbage cream sauce... More

Birthday party with friends! Nice atmosphere, friendly and professional staff! Started with a bottle of rose prosecco which was good and nicely priced. Had a tuna tartare which was fresh and extremely delicious combined with a Hungarian white wine. Main course was beef cheek which was prepared as it should be. Soft and not over cooked with a puree of... More

Went there for a quick dinner just before Christmas. I had a Tagliatelle with deer ragout and a Pumpkin and apple pie with sage ice cream. The tagliatelle was amazing, very nice freshly made pasta perfectly cooked and a rich deer stew to top it. If you want, you can also order from the more upscale Fausto's menu as well.

I was in town for extensive dental work - so just having had 4 extractions and a temporary denture fitted was not exactly conducive to dining out. I am so glad that I did - the lunchtime menu was very adequate and ably supported by a number of specials. I opted for the Goose Liver Terrine, followed by Ox Cheek... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
