My wife and I ate here on a weekend getaway to Budapest without the kids. It was highly recommended by friends, and it was clear we were not the only ones to get the message. After passing restaurant after empty restaurant, there was a line waiting to get in here. We booked a table for later in the evening and... more

Even if Hungarian cuisine is not in your "top 5" list of types of dish you tend to like, this is a great place to eat and you are sure to find something you like. Highly recommended if you are visiting. The only take cash though. more

Ate there twice. Lunch. Dinner. Upside: Friendly, efficient service. Mixed upscale local and international clientele. The food was local with all the strengths and weaknesses of Central European food. Some dishes were good, some not so much. Authentic. Downside: They allow smoking. It's Central Europe - your clothes will smell like cabbage. more

I agree with the previous person. We also booked a table for lunch. Turned up in time and where offered a table in the passage way opposite the bar. I asked when our table would be ready and the reply was 10mins. Within 5mins we where asked what we wanted to drink & eat. We refused stating we where waiting... more

Dinner at Café Kõr was a huge disappointment. I would not recommend it. Food was only mediocre, service was terrible and very impersonal. Those who write that this place has gone downhill seem to know what they are talking about. We had reservations at 8, arrived on time, were asked to take a table right in front of the door... more

Cafe Kor's menu was varied, authentic and wonderfully prepared and presented. Except for the first waitress we had the staff was professional and conscientious. A hidden gem. We went back three times. more

We had a reservation for 7 P.M. and as we were early, sat outside on the patio and had a glass of wine. The restaurant was not busy so we were fortunate enough to have the attention of our delightful young and very well-educated waiter. Our half hour conversation was so informative, and allowed us one of the great pleasures... more

We went on a Wednesday evening and had to wait for a table, it was so busy, booking is recommended. The walls are covered with awards and it didn't disappoint. The food is a mixture of classic and Hungarian plus daily specials. I wanted something typical as we were only there one night and had an excellent beef 'goulash'. The... more

This is a great restaurant and particularly good if you want to try some good hungarian food. We tried to pre-book (which I would recommend as it gets very busy) but we couldn't get a table, there were about 6 of us so I guess if there are only 2 of you it would be easier. After looking around for... more

We had lunch at Cafe Kor on Saturday, the day before we left and wished we'd gone there earlier. It was by far and away our best dining experience and we really felt like we'd been invited into someone's private dining room. Small, intimate with wonderful staff, all clientele appearted to be locals. We were basically guided as to what... more
