This cafe was a random stop off for breakfast. We enjoyed the food so much we returned again the next day for breakfast. The service is not particularly good, but I a willing to sacrifice that for the food. I had bacon and eggs which sounds basic but the attention to detail in the presentation and accompanying salad were gorgeous.... More

We wanted something to eat before climbing the steps to buda castle and cafe dumas was close enough. We arrived about 5 minutes after breakfast had finished and were told to wait 20 minutes for the lunch special menu and was assured it would be worth it. Half an hour passed, and in that time about 2-3 tables had sat... More

Decent menu but most of the wines by the glass were unavailable. Nice terrace, friendly service but not the place for a quick lunch. It is part of the French Institute which looked interesting.

This cafe, which is situated at the front if the french Institute provides tables inside and out and looks onto the danube. The coffee is good, the menu offers a range if snacks and meals, the service is quite slow, but fine if you are not in a hurry. With free wifi and good toilet facilities based in the institute... We went here for breakfast as it was the only cafe we could find near our hotel which was open. We were waiting five minutes before anyone bought us a menu. After we ordered our food and drinks, I noticed that the waiter was sneezing and blowing his nose while he was preparing drinks, and not washing his hands. Two... More

Very disappointing experience. Had to wait 45min for our food and when it arrived it was bread bout at a grocery store with some cheese. Also, they had run out of everything such as beer and most wines, just as I have run out of stars. Only redeeming feature was the free wifi.

Had a great breakfast of gypsy toast (French toast) and onmelette. I asked for chocolate milk and she never heard if it. She made some and brought it with a chuckle like "here's your 'cold cocoa?'l That was cute. But the food was great and cheap!

I decided to "go native" and eat Hungarian, as I've never tried it before. Starter was Bean Soup, which contained meat as well as beans (veggies beware!), and to follow I tried Stuffed Cabbage, the stuffing being unidentified meat! They were both very tasty but I'm sure my waistline will suffer as they must have contained mega-calories! Too full for... More

We visited here a couple of times. Its not a great location as it is on the side of a road, but the menu is really good, and exceptional value for money. Had 2 meals with a couple of drinks each for about £20 including a tip! Staff really friendly but not too quick, a place to go and relax... More
