Description: Siculus coquus et Sicula mensa...that is the Sicilian cook and Sicilian table. According to a Roman saying this is the secret to a healthy life. They came, saw and conquered: the Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Angevins, Hapsburgs, the Bourbons...Yes, every one of them! All these people, they left something in Sicily - Trinacria, for example, belonging to Greek mythology, the Gorgon in the middle and the three legs as tips to protect the island. The Arabs, skilled breeders of goats and lambs, and with them their milk, processed caciocavallo, provola pecorino. The testimony of the Saracens from the "sweet tooth" in Sicily is a legacy left by the nuns who handed down the memory, and it is thanks to them that today we have the real dough, cassata and Siculus coquus et Sicula mensa "cannoli". With the succession of all these peoples, Sicily today has a very diverse cultural heritage, that leaves a lasting impression for life, the memories of all those travelers who have had the opportunity and the chance to visit it. Between the oleanders and colorful bougainvillea, under the shade of the thick foliage of olive trees, savoring the delicacies of Sicilian cuisine, including fresh fish of the sea, the warm sun that enriches and gives an unmistakable flavor to fruits and vegetables, sipping her wine noblest, is unforgettable. Equally memorable are the inhabitants of this fantastic island, famous for their warm welcome and availability, full of life, with their kindling a sense of humor, with the inimitable "coppola" placed on their heads, with a joyful noise you preach good appetite. This atmosphere we are ready to offer here in Budapest! "Baciamo le mani!"(kind of typical Sicilian regards) Salvo Sgroi and La Coppola Team

Lovely atmosphere and definitely one of the best dinners we've ever had! We found this restaurant by chance on our last night in Budapest and it really made our holiday.

Ate here with two friends. The waiters were very friendly. As starters we had carpaccio and the mixed salad. And we had pizza La Coppola, saltimboca alla romana and pizza Contadida as main course. Food was fantastic!

It was like a family meal when we dined here. The wait staff was very welcoming and accommodating, the fresh pasta was delicious and cooked al dente. I had the Rigatoni alla Norma made with fresh basil, tomato sauce, eggplant and Sicilian ricotta that was so light and delicious, I called it a humming meal because with every bite I... More

You could feel the warmth of the Sicilian welcome as soon as you walked through the door. They were devastated they could not accommodate our party of 8 when we dropped in, but we liked the ambience so much, we booked for the following evening, and the food and wine were so good we returned again on our last night... We had an amazing meal at La Coppola. The Tagliere “Cunzatu” appetizer was a combination of wonderful flavours and can definitely be recommended. The restaurant also has a great selection of Italian wines. The only thing off was that the waitress recommended a Nero d'Avola red wine with the "Pignata" main course, which is a seafood dish. I was surprised... More

This is a wonderful Italian restaurant in Budapest. Great fresh, homemade pasta, fresh ingredients. English-speaking waitstaff. Reasonable prices. We had a wonderful meal there.

We were so impressed we ate here twice. By far the best Italian food we've eaten anywhere. Incredible value.

I see that La Coppola has very good reviews, but unfortunately I did not have a good experience here. I was excited to try it, because the menu looked great and the restaurant felt so cozy when we walked in. We sat upstairs and it started out well - drinks came in good time, and the soups did as well.... More

This restaurant is beautiful located in a calm area of Budapest. Near to Kalvin Ter. The atmosphere is good inside and the table outdoors are perfect a summer evening. The only disturbance is the busses passing bye. But not so frequently. A perfect experience is if you Challenge the restaurant to cook for you based upon your taste and mood!... More

This very nice restaurant is located in the city centre. Finding a parking place nearby is not so easy, so the quickest way to park your car is to put it into the garage in Reáltanoda street. The restaurant itself has a very nice Italian atmosphere. There is a wide variety of foods on the menu. The staff is very... More
