Description: This is a classic style elegant coffee house / restaurant in the heart of Budapest - I was amazed to find that it has not been reviewed on trip advisor at all!! I would be happy to review it if you place it on your register.

This used to be a great place to escape to in the afternoon for a quiet coffee. Not anymore. The tourist hoardes have discovered it (probably thanks to tripadvisor) and now it is full of the camera clicking masses taking hundreds of photos they will never look at. In the afternoon, now expect to queue to get in. But...the interior... More

This is the bookstore café to end all bookstore cafés! I cannot speak to the quality of the lunches, but the pastries are as tasty as they are seductive and the hot cocoa and teas are all one expects. It is, however, the atmosphere which compels a visit to this establishment. Soaring ceilings painted in art nouveau style with a... More

The cafe is located in an art nouveau style store, that is a great bookshop, and also includes a wine section, and located on Andrassy Ave., and so you are already seeing sights as you enter the cafe. The cafe is in an enormous room lavishly decorated with turn of the century murals. Sit in one of the sofa's so... More

Such a hot day and therefore perfect with a cool salad and a glass of sparkling water and beer. Excellent waiters and really nice food. He had a spicy cottage cheese salad and I had the buffalo mozzarella salad. Topped it off with the house chocolate cake, which was gorgeous, but I think those should be reserved for cooler days.... The food was just a bit above average and the service a little slow when we were waiting for our bill ... but oh, the room! This place is so unexpected! It was fun to watch people walk in as everyone's jaws literally drop open. The bookstore you pass through to get here has a great English section (on the... More

This place is a little hard to find - it's on the second level above a bookshop so just head right in even if it looks more like a shopping mall when you find the right number! It's a very lovely place to have tea and cakes, classy and well-preserved.

It is a little bit funny, maybe the modern architectures joke that, you never would thought you can find a so nice ballroom behind a modern meaningless book store. Maybe I'm not right about the meaningless, cause the book store has a wine store in the right side as you enter from the street. Wine and books? What? But ok,... More

Probably the most beautiful of Budapest's cafes, it started life as the ballroom of a casino built in 1884. The exterior of the building on Andrassy Street reflects its early twentieth-century art nouveau transformation (in 1911 it became the 'Paris Department Store'). But its original fantastically ornate neo-Renaissance ballroom - with its soaring ceilings, gilding and elaborate murals, painted by... More

It was nice to have coffee here. Just go trough the bookstore and you'll find it upstairs. The room is just great and the prices are fine as well. I recommend this one!
