We went there for some drinks and refresh. They are kind but they charged us € 10.5 for a lemonade that might cost them € 0.50..., this is crazy!

If you've been in business for 500 years you are doing something right. I have eaten here several times. In 2011, 2012, and twice whenin Budapest in 2013. The ragout soup is always my first choice. I can taste the fresh tarragon in it now as I remember it. A great starter. I think I order the Transylvanian Plate usually,... More

The food is so so.... But they have musicians who wring out a money (not exactly money but push you to pay for drinks for them that cost half of your dinner). Do not go there if you would like to keep good emotions about Budapest.

Arrived at night. Booked the restaurant a day before and got a 10% discount for that. The chicken with cherries in divine. Do not miss a remarkable onion soup and the goulash. The desserts were very good. The dishes are large and generous. The service is superb. We had a great time with the local band of Gypsy music. You... More

You have to believe in your instincts as you walk into an empty restaurant-well it was a lunchtime in January. It seemed as though the staff might be nervous that you would walk away. But once they got the hang of the fact that these customers were staying the whole atmosphere lightened and all were reluctant charmers. The food is... More

The location of this restaurant, plus the live entertainment and speed of service were all impressive. The hotel is decorated in a traditional Hungarian style like some kind of hunters log cabin, it was very atmospheric and after visiting the castle region; in keeping. However, although the food was very tasty, it seems most things at the restaurant are reliant... More

The Food was well below par in comparison to other restaurants both in buda and on the pest side. The food was lacking in flavour, not well presented and very small portions. Restaurant is too bright and lacks any atmosphere compared to other more atmospheric bars and cafes in buda. The music was average and like previous reviewers, we also... More

Be aware! If you are rich in sense of humor, you can pop in. 60's atmosphere, paper napkin on a serious table cloth, stucked, scary and intrusive musicians, cheap food, critical wine. But, I'm not kidding, if you have sense of humor you're gonna laugh all the time. I've been tearful for one hour and half, laughing and laughing. Really... More

Tourist trap de luxe in the scenic castle area. The food was not our taste as it was more food than taste; Chicken with tasteless pepper sauce, and filled turkey with chestnut and cherry sauce. Maybe the latter is supposed to be "chicken in jam"; it did not do the trick for me. Salad was good. The "folklore musicians" was... More

In search of dinner after a particularly trying journey to Budapest we alighted on the Black Raven for no other reason than it was just around the corner from our hotel. The two most complimentary things I can say about the place were a) it was open; and b) the food was edible. On the down side, the price of... More
