I've been to PRIME maybe 7 or 8 times now since they moved to a downtown location. I do think that their steaks taste better than those at neighboring La Pampa. They consistently seem to be cooked better and are just one notch above. Their selection of meats is very good and my friends say that the non-steak options are... More

Certainly not the best rib eye I have had for 30 euro, but acceptable enough. The baked potato was really excellent but messed up with the bland runny cheese. Why can't they serve baked spuds with the stuff on the side (butter, sour cream, chives etc) rather than stirring it all with a stick and blobbing it on top! The... More

I think this is the best stake I've evner eaten. It was cooked perfectly and just the way you wanted. It was quite expensive but acceptable. We had to wait long for the food and started to get a bit irritated, but we got the food we understood why it took a long time to prepare it. Service could have... More

Review from a "Romantic" dinner perspective as it was meant to be a treat for my partner's birthday. 1. Environment - Flashy, new, clean, modern. It has a bar atmosphere, very basic separation, more flat surfaces and neon lights feel to it. Definitely feels (wanabe) upper society. It does not bode well for me to be honest, as I am... More

This is one of the more expensive restaurants in Budapest, so the expectation is that the service will be without flaws. Unfortunately one of the main waiting staff 'Aron' was rude and unaccommodating. The other two staff 'Martin' and 'Gabor' that served us were excellent. It's a pity that one person whose salary comes from the paying customers can ruin... More

I cannot fault the steaks which were superb, but it would have been nice if the meals had been hot. We were told the plates were very hot only to find the complete reverse. I can only assume they had been hanging around after being plated up before they got to us. One of the sauces was missing (as was... More

I enjoyed my first time "upscale" dining at Prime Steak and Wine a lot. The service was prompt and neat as I expected it to be, and the steaks were absolutely delicious. Altough we had to look twice, or three times at the menu before we figured out what to get since the card is a bit unclear. Loved the... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
