Great dinner spot

We really enjoyed our meal at Hunyadi. It served traditional food with a french twist but we found it to be a lot less heavy than many of the other restaurants we went to in Budapest. We had an very long walk and around 7:pm we found this place. As we were hungry and couldn’t see any other establishment in the street we decided to enter. The restaurant was empty and so was the holder for toilet paper in the bathroom. Why can’t they check this? When we made a comment on the empty restaurant we... More

This restaurant is a must visit when in Budapest. Both the mains and the deserts are amazingly delicious and the staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is a true neighbourhood gem that won't disappoint you.

Our B&B host recommended this place, as we were staying in the neighborhood. We ate here for dinner our first night in Budapest and had a great experience. Very good service (excellent English) and the food was nicely presented and very tasty. We had beef goulash, turkey soup, tenderloin medallions and catfish paprikash. Several nights later, we ate here again... More

It is a bit difficult to find but with Google map and trip advisor app we managed. It looked promising according the trip advisor stickers but the restaurant was empty. We gave it the benefit of the doubt because of its remote location. The host was very nice. We picked a soup and a main course each attached picture. Goulash... More

I have tried a lot of Restaurants, this one didn't look this inviting from the outside but given good reviews we decided to give it ago. Food was amazing. We went for catfish paprikash and Winerschnitzel..It took them a while but it was FABULOUS. Everything super fresh and rich in taste. Tasted authentic and home made. Service was very nice... More

Our group of 6 ate here on our last night of a long European vacation. We had a marvelous experience. The only reason I rated it a 4 instead of a 5 was that my Wienerschnitzel was a touch dry. I may have ordered poorly, because everyone else in our group raved about their dishes. My husband had the veal... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
