Fabtastic meal

This is a hidden jewel of a restaurant. Fantastic food - the menu appears mostly to be Eastern European, but the food is much more creative. I had smoked chicken breast with honey and seared goat Camembert cheese. On the side was a uncreative pile of mashed potatoes, but to the mashed potatoes... read more

We ate at this restaurant now 3 nights. It was so good on the first night that we just kept coming back. The goulash stake & duck is of special mention and a must to try.

It's a nice little restaurant serving typical hungarian dishes (and other meals). The owner is really nice and cares about the guests himself. The dishes have fair prices (main course around 11€). I would definitely return!

The waitress was very nice and friendly, she explained to us about the different dishes and made good recommendations. The food was very good, i'd highly reccomend if you want to try traditional hungarian food. I thought the prices were reasonable.

Hunyadi Restaurant is a nice place right below Fishermen's Bastion. Very clean and tidy, with a nice staff. The food is good. The only "negative" spot is that it's a little bit overpriced. Anyway, a good place to go for dinner.

Visited here during trip few weeks ago. can hands down say was best place we ate (went to place ranked #3 on here - didn't come close). Food was top notch, bit pricier than some others but worth the extra. We had the sautéed oyster mushroom with thyme and goats cheese camembert for starter, veal cheek with paprika sauce 'hortobagy'... More

I had no idea about this place beforehand and I'm glad it's ranked so highly on TA. Me and the GF had just been up to Fisherman's bastion and were looking for a nice little eatery on our way back to our hotel when we stumbled across Hunyadi. We hesitated initially as the restaurant was very quiet and menu looked... More

We pre booked this restaurant for our first night based on TA reviews and location (we stayed in Castle area). Revisited on nights 3 and 4 (final) and nearly felt like locals by then on account of the welcome and service. The restaurant is comfortable and stylish; the owners professional and attentive with meal suggestions and information on Budapest. The... More

A very cozy restaurant situated just down the stairs from Fisherman's Bastion. Traditional Hungarian food but you can also get pastas and wiener schnitzels. The food tasted good, the portion sizes were big, the service was very friendly and we felt that we got a lot of value for our money. Can absolutely recommend this place, it's the restaurant that...
