Description: ZONA Budapest is clearly something completely different - haute cuisine...
ZONA Budapest is clearly something completely different - haute cuisine with an unusual twist and an amazing view onto the Chain Bridge. Its latest success reflects the same: in October 2013 the international guide of Gault&Millau rated ZONA 17 points and 3 toques, so named as one of the TOP3 restaurants in Hungary. The menu is daily variable, but the quality and the surprise factor is standard. ZONA's chef is Krisztian Huszar (Chef Of The Year 2011) brings Eastern and Basque flavors into modern Hungarian tastes. The wines also receive a big emphasis in the restaurant, which gives real specialty to the venue. IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to construction works the whole street has been closed, and will remain so until the end of Summer, so ZONA can be only reached by walk, bicycle or taxi. We truly apologise for any inconveniences caused and hope that your experiences at our venue will make you forget about them.

Do Not Leave Budapest Without Eating Here!

I've been meaning to review this restaurant for some time, but the fact that I've waited this long and can still remember what I ate should be testament enough to a memorable experience. Still, I shall talk you through it and convince you that you must not visit Budapest without paying a visit to... read more

Came for a business lunch on my own. Ordered three courses. They were all quite delicious. There came two appetizers before the starter (mozzarella caprese in water melon juice) which were freshly baked bread with some olive oil and some cucumber in cucumber juice and caviar. Very refreshing for starters. Their free water solution is pretty nice and an environmentally... More

Great restaurant with a very enthusiast chef who often comes out and talks to the guests. Superb food. Nice wine selection, great view on the Danube.

If you are a foodie this place is a must. Great experience. The chef has a great personality and his creations are not only tasty but harmonic and very creative. Best Hungarian-Fusion cuisine in town. Wine selection is extremely good. Dessert and coffee are fantastic too.

We had a great dining experience here. Note that the restaurant defines itself as a fine dining restaurant in a casual setting. The fine dining part means that portions aren't large and I would really recommend that you go for the five or six course options (chef's choice) as it's about the right amount of food and the variety is... Interesting restaurant; good value set meals; started with bonne mouche, then apple soup which was very close to apple juice but delicately different; hearty pork cheek and fun pud. Make sure you get a seat and are not consigned to an uncomfortable stool. Perfect end to strenuous morning sightseeing on Castle Hill.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
