Description: ZONA Budapest is clearly something completely different - haute cuisine...
ZONA Budapest is clearly something completely different - haute cuisine with an unusual twist and an amazing view onto the Chain Bridge. Its latest success reflects the same: in October 2013 the international guide of Gault&Millau rated ZONA 17 points and 3 toques, so named as one of the TOP3 restaurants in Hungary. The menu is daily variable, but the quality and the surprise factor is standard. ZONA's chef is Krisztian Huszar (Chef Of The Year 2011) brings Eastern and Basque flavors into modern Hungarian tastes. The wines also receive a big emphasis in the restaurant, which gives real specialty to the venue. IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to construction works the whole street has been closed, and will remain so until the end of Summer, so ZONA can be only reached by walk, bicycle or taxi. We truly apologise for any inconveniences caused and hope that your experiences at our venue will make you forget about them.

Always a treat

I'd recommend the tasting menu (5 or 6 courses), you will be able to eat your way through these exquisite little plates, each a new adventure :) Also, you'll get some extra plates, lovely, playful things in between the courses. Pop in for a 3 course lunch menu for 3500 HUF which is an absolute steal. Great location, nice interiors, great wine list and innovative dishes.

I was invited from friends to this new hot spot in Budapest, close to the Danube. After a very friendly welcome from the professional young service team we have been seated at a window table - something you should ask for. After a nice intro about the menu and the recommendation for the corresponding wines to our choices. First of... More

We were concerned despite the good reviews as the restaurant was completely empty. However, the food was exceptionally good, delicate flavours and a varied wine list. Lovely to taste subtle flavours in central Europe.

Attractivly designed restaurant overlooking the Danube 200 m from the elisabet bridge in Buda. Good range of wines available by the glass and enjoyed the price fixe menu at £7 for two courses. The wild garlic soup was really an excellent brilliantly green foam with shitake mushroom garnish, good bread and olive oil. The pike was perfectly cooked, crisp skin... More

The food here is superb and consistent and excellent value for money. It is only a small restaurant with five or six four seater tables and quite a few stool style doubles. Curiously the long bar has no seating but surely this will change as the restaurant gains in popularity...which it will. The high staff to customer ratio and the... More

I have already heard positiv opinion about Zona, and it is even better compared to what I have expected. I invited French colleages, they were also amaized. I have had the best steak ever in Zona! Each course was top quality anyway. Service is good, location with the view on the Chainbridge is a great choice.

They offer a 'fixed' menu which you can choose between 5 and 7 courses. Have had the 5 course on 2 different occasions and was very impressed with the overall quality, creativity and execution of every dish. Service, atmosphere and wine selection all excellent and reasonably priced for the level of quality. Highly Recommend.

Great dinner experience with absolutely quality food and exceptional wines! Service is punctual but still cool. One of the best food (and wine) ever.

loved this restaurant. It was a quiet Saturday night but the staff were really warm and attentive. Food was good, we had the five course menu. We actually enjoyed not having a wide choice as it meant eating dishes we not have picked ourselves. Dishes were inventive and well executed. Service was attentive but not claustrophobic. Prices high for Hungary... More
