Description: ZONA Budapest is clearly something completely different - haute cuisine...
ZONA Budapest is clearly something completely different - haute cuisine with an unusual twist and an amazing view onto the Chain Bridge. Its latest success reflects the same: in October 2013 the international guide of Gault&Millau rated ZONA 17 points and 3 toques, so named as one of the TOP3 restaurants in Hungary. The menu is daily variable, but the quality and the surprise factor is standard. ZONA's chef is Krisztian Huszar (Chef Of The Year 2011) brings Eastern and Basque flavors into modern Hungarian tastes. The wines also receive a big emphasis in the restaurant, which gives real specialty to the venue. IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to construction works the whole street has been closed, and will remain so until the end of Summer, so ZONA can be only reached by walk, bicycle or taxi. We truly apologise for any inconveniences caused and hope that your experiences at our venue will make you forget about them.

I've heard lots about zona, so thought we'd try it. We went on a Saturday night and it was very quiet. The food was a little strange, nothing was horrible but nothing great. They seem to be trying to create unusual combinations but nothing really worked. It was actually very expensive, for the money you could go to any top... More

This place offers regularly changing menus, with unexpected combinations (all tasty). The friendly and knowledgeable staff help in making this a wonderful dining experience. We recommend to go for the 5 course combo, as the portions are just right (and they are flexible in changing slightly to suit customer needs). We enjoy returning here regularly.

Judging from previous reviews, Zóna is a divisive place. This was our assessment. There was no trouble with the service, the food was as expected - post-modern food combinations. The scallops with pig's ear (mangalica, of course) and the cod with sweetbreads can be regarded as a part of Zóna's signature - if you go there, that or something analogous... More

We had a very Nice evening in this restaurant. We took a 5 Courses menu with suitable wine's and it was delicious!! One miner, the Courses came fast. We in Belgium enjoy a long stay on table :-) but we asked to take some time between the dishes so problem solved. Excellent wine's for a Nice price. We paid 160€... More

Overpriced, terrible desserts, rude & bored service. Ridiculously small portions, very limited menu. Vegetarians stay away.

Terrible dessert, negligent waiters, highly overpriced menu. Not recommended for vegetarians, they give you only some side dishes.

By charging customers at these much, please think wisely about the services of the waiter especially the male waiter (there are only 2male waiter when we pay a visit, not the tall one) on Dec 05 for dinner. Is my second times i come back with my fiancé. We knew is pricey place but not rude services! Although is very... More

We ate here on our first night in Budapest, which was a great start to our visit. The restaurant has a great view of the river and vibe is modern and classy. We had the tasting menu and loved every course! Our first course was a version of Vietnamese pho that with small dumplings (instead of noodles) and beef; the... More

A really cool place. You feel at home right away. The menu is small, but who cares, when the quality is at this level. Everything was beautifully served, and everything was tasting wonderful. A lot of interesting local wines on the winelist. We of course tried one of the local producers and wasn't disappointed. Hungary is able to make excellent... More
