Description: ZONA Budapest is clearly something completely different - haute cuisine with an unusual twist and an amazing view onto the Chain Bridge. Its latest success reflects the same: in October 2013 the international guide of Gault&Millau rated ZONA 17 points and 3 toques, so named as one of the TOP3 restaurants in Hungary. The menu is daily variable, but the quality and the surprise factor is standard. ZONA's chef is Krisztian Huszar (Chef Of The Year 2011) brings Eastern and Basque flavors into modern Hungarian tastes. The wines also receive a big emphasis in the restaurant, which gives real specialty to the venue. IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to construction works the whole street has been closed, and will remain so until the end of Summer, so ZONA can be only reached by walk, bicycle or taxi. We truly apologise for any inconveniences caused and hope that your experiences at our venue will make you forget about them.

We ate here on our first night in Budapest, which was a great start to our visit. The restaurant has a great view of the river and vibe is modern and classy. We had the tasting menu and loved every course! Our first course was a version of Vietnamese pho that with small dumplings (instead of noodles) and beef; the... More

A really cool place. You feel at home right away. The menu is small, but who cares, when the quality is at this level. Everything was beautifully served, and everything was tasting wonderful. A lot of interesting local wines on the winelist. We of course tried one of the local producers and wasn't disappointed. Hungary is able to make excellent... More

We went there the 16 of October for a dinner, the food was ok, I tried the pigeon, bit "fat" with a very small portion, my colleague took a ricciola, little bit better but very small, even for me that I am not a great eater. I was really surprise how rude was the service, the guy( manager?) Doesn't really... More

Our group came up a restaurant short on our recent visit to Budapest. With only a couple days notice we found Zona could accomodate all 10 of us. As it happens this was one of the best restaurants we have ever experienced The restaurant itself is so small and cozy we were even more surprised we got in. Our sommlier... More

I am so glad that a local told me about this gem of a restaurant prior to my arrival in Budapest. I wish I could transport back in time and savor all of the wonderful flavor bursts my palate experienced. So, I went here for lunch after a local was gushing to me about this place. It's so easy to... More

I have been twice recently and will soon add more visits. The set-up and the offer adds something new to Budapest. I live in Budapest and have seen many places come and go, and yet Zona brings a something new. It is not a single factor, but the fact that it has a somewhat different approach to Asian Fusion using... More
