Ranked #3 of 1,586 restaurants in Budapest
Certificate of Excellence 2014
Cuisines: Ice Cream
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Late Night
Description: Located in the center of Budapest (Basilica), Gelarto Rosa is THE BEST ice cream in this town! Owner, the charismatic Niki Szokron studied the secrets of old Italian family recipes straight from the source in Italy and brought it back to her city. The philosophy behind it: fresh and true quality ingredients, old Italian traditions, modern technic and as final touch, add artistic creativity. The pretty ice cream girls at Niki's shop "create" each and every portion or cone as a unique artwork using ice cream as art material. It's simply amazing! Don't miss Peti (the barista) great Italian style coffee, and have real French macaroon from Juliette McAron.

They make really good ice cream at Gelarto Rosa. It's worth the wait when there is a queue in front of their little store. And the location is convenient next to St. Stephen's so you can visit them easily on a daily basis and try different flavors. I don't mind the rose shape and always prefer a cup portion when... More

If you are in Budapest you have to try this rose-shaped ice cream. My girlfriend still thinks it is the best she has ever tasted, we had once a day for a week!

Many beautiful flavours, wonderfully presented, friendly service with a smile and a lovely boutique feel to the place. Lots of fun.

This is probably the most popular gelato shop is the city, with good reason. A large variety of flavors you've never heard of, served in a cone with a unique style of presentation. Try it.

We had an ice cream here given the high ranking on tripadvisor. The best thing is the presentation (very nice to scoop the ice cream in the shape of a flower) and the selection. The taste is good but nothing special: this would be a below-average gelateria in every Italian city.

After reading the reviews on here a trip to have one of these ice creams was a must. Although there wasn't a great selection of ice creams compared to many ice cream parlours globally, there was a few to chose from. I chose Oreo, Vanilla and Peach while my partner had chocolate, banana and pistachio. You also have the option... More

Delicious ice cream and sorbet artfully shaped like roses - so beautiful! Would definitely recommend this little gem to anybody visiting Budapest - especially the lemon basil sorbet, raspberry sorbet and peach sorbet.

I loved this place just next to the St. Stephen Basilica. The rose petal shaped ice creams are extremely delicious. You can choose from very special tasty ice creams. Although you should stay in a long line to get this wonderfully decorated ice cream, do not worr,y it really worth it. Take the biggest size.

This place makes the most beautiful roses out of ice cream, totally worth a visit. I had to try a big one, with 4 different flavours; oreo, chili chocolate, panna cotta and lavender/white chocolate. They don't have the biggest selection of flavours, but they ones they had were good. And you can sit outside and watch the pretty church :)... More
