Located in the center of Budapest (Basilica), Gelarto Rosa is THE BEST ice cream in this town! Owner, the charismatic Niki Szokron studied the secrets of old Italian family recipes straight from the source in Italy and brought it back to her city. The philosophy behind it: fresh and true quality ingredients, old Italian traditions, modern technic and as final touch, add artistic creativity. The pretty ice cream girls at Niki's shop "create" each and every portion or cone as a unique artwork using ice cream as art material. It's simply amazing! Don't miss Peti (the barista) great Italian style coffee, and have real French macaroon from Juliette McAron.

Very Good Gelato

I only tried the Gelato and it was great. I went twice during my one week stay in Budapest. It's so much fun watching them build a flower out of gelato. My favorite flavors were white chocolate lavender and chocolate. It's a must try and only 600 forint for 3 flavors.

The pistachio flavour ice-cream is a must try. Creamy but not too sweet. Suitable for everyone. The design of the cafe is very lovely and it's not far from the St. Stephen Basilica.

This ice cream is so tasty and full of real taste of fruit and everything else they using just like White chocolate with lavender or bazil and lime sorbet. Every single one is just perfect. And I already tasted a lot of ice creams in Italy. .. Hope... More

We just had an Italian dinner in a Restaurant one block away, so came to this Ice Cream Shop for dessert. There were 10 flavours on offer as it's 5 deg outdoor. But enough flavours to suit most people and one can make quick choices without wasting time. We were pleased the price for 2 cones was half of that... More

hi, I only had ice cream together with wife and 3 children. We ALL loved it, and I recommend the black-team-cardamon-ginger one. wow. The personnel is remarkable. The choice was amongst +-12 flavors if i remember well. they also sell chocolate pralines and french maccarons .... Definitely worth a stop and go ;)

This place is a must if you like ice cream, really nice flavours to choose from, but not one of those places which have 100s, which have ben sitting around for weeks. They present the ice creams wonderfully, and if only we had come here on the first day we would have gone back everyday even if it was -1'C... More
