Great food in a meat heavy, tourist-food laden country

As Australians, we are used to fresh, Asian inspired meals. Unfortunately, most food in Hungary could not be further from this. After traipsing through street after street attempting to find something other than goulash, liver, fried pork cutlet or pickled salad, I almost cried with happiness when... read more

The restaurant might be a bit hard to find, as it's located a bit off from the busy Vaci u., but it's definitely worth the visit. It's a very cozy basement restaurant with a friendly staff. We went in to get the seafood menu and it was both very tasty and great value for money. The menu for two cost... More

I was looking forward to have a nice thai meal reading all the positive reviews but boy, was I dissapointed. I have never rated a restaurant in all these tripadvisor years poor but sadly this will be the first time. Don't get me wrong, the intention of the restaurant is positive and the meal we had was not that bad... More

Craving for rice? Spice? and Soup? This is where you find great thai food in Budapest. I got to try a fried rice and tom yam soup which taste originally from Thailand. Just Awesome!

This was right across from the hotel we were stopping in. The restaurant is really nicely designed with Thai ornaments and garments everywhere. It was a nice place. After reading all the good reviews I was really looking forward to eating here unfortunately the food wasn't good and I am a bit puzzled and confused about how this restaurant has... More

We had the spicy five course sea food dinner for two, along with olaszrizling white wine and found it to be reasonably priced and delicious. Service was very good!

Last night of four in Budapest and... pouring with rain, so we decided to try the restaurant just opposite the hotel. Neither of the four of us had and experience with Tai restaurants, but this was a succes. Very nice springrolls, rice, vegetables and chicken and nine perfectly grilled scampi's with noodles and crunchy vegetables. Only minus: asked for An... More

The restaurant was almost empty at lunchtime which left a bit sad feeling. The place is actually quite cosy with nice Thai bakground music and decorations. Really nice waitresses here! I took a lunch meny which was quite ok but not really like in Thailand.

Authentic cooking, nice ambience, reasonable price and good service. The phad thai ( fried noodles ) with prawns is even better than many I have tasted in Thailand .

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
