Araz restaurant looks like a classy place and also the price level is set accordingly. However, our high expectations were soon shattered when the food was served. The meat was ok, although a bit overcooked for a medium. We really could not understand the sides at all. They were kind of odd collection and obviously not made to order. The... More

I had high hopes for this place... We arrived and we were just standing there like idiots at the door, because the host was talking to a man, which was fine, but he looked at us and did nothing. The place itself was empty almost, yet the dj was playing super loud music... I ordered a tenderloin medium-rare, what i... More

We chose to dine in ARAZ Continental Hotel Zara restaurant during our recent stay in Budapest. The restaurant offers both Hungarian and French cuisine with varied choices on either menu. The restaurant has a pleasant contemporary atmosphere with smartly dressed staff. The staff were very attentive to our needs and offered recommendations. The dinner we had was excellent, stylishly presented,... More

Fantastic food and service and very reasonably priced. And as a gluten free vegetarian, I even had a choice of dishes which was great.

Had dinner here tonight; dinner was good but nothing special. The ambiance looks very luxurious and modern.

Great food but service is a bit hit and miss. Lots of mistakes from the staff but these were corrected quickly. Wine list had some excellent wines at reasonable prices.

I was with my miniature poodle out and about and saw this restaurant's review and made a special effort to walk there in 36°C temperatures only to be turned away because of the dog. What a shame.

This is an elegant restaurant with quality food and outstanding service. The roast goose was exceptional. The Hungarian wines were of good quality and priced well. Others in our party had goulash which was very tasty. The wait staff was helpful with suggestions and the service was top notch.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
