We found this unusual establishment completely by accident as we were exploring various parts of the city. As we went in you are struck by the cat themed interior, nice cosy area to sit and enjoy a meal or a drink, both upstairs and downstairs, the decor is eclectic but not to kitsch. We yad just ate previously so only went... More

I'm vegan. My partner is veggie. We both love beer. This place was perfect. The lovely lady behind the bar (wish I'd got her name) talked us through the menu options in flawless English, I had a delicious chickpea stew, my other half had a quesadilla, and we both enjoyed a couple of excellent local brews, The food and customer... We dropped in for a little dinner and drinks and weren't disappointed. We had veggie lasagne and quesadilla - both were excellent and the beers were great too. 2 meals and 6 drinks came to 6800 HUF (around £16!) and it was bustling with Hungarians (we were the only foreigners).

The decor and interior is really warm and welcoming, it's very comfortable with seating downstairs and a lounge platform overlooking the bar with pillows and space to recline. Very good vegetarian food on offer (affordable & good quality) and a very good selection of different beer styles on offer. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

This was one of the best places we've visited in Budapest. One of the few bars/restaurants where the staff was friendly. There was a good atmosphere, special interior.. Not much on the menu ,but the food we've ordered was great. Also ate the best brownie of my life! Check also the hot ginger drink!! Will come back for sure!

Macska has a special atmosphere with a friendly staff. The food worth for money and not the usual and typical vegetarian stuff. They have special draught beers. If you want to chill a bit, you wont be dissapointed.:)

An overall enjoyable meal here with great range of beers and other drinks to accompany it. Service was extremely friendly and welcoming. Although the menu was small, the range of options was good. To be honest, the food was a bit underseasoned and some of it was a little bland - so it did feel like they could be a... More

I found it really hard to be a vegetarian, let alone vegan, in budapest but finding this place was like finding heaven! Its a small bar/cafe with a homely atmosphere and a sweet mezzanine level, the sort of place you need to take off your shoes in and sit on bean bags; perfect relax after a long day walking around... If you want veggie or vegan food in Budapest, then this is definitely a place to check out. The theme of the decor is cats with a bit of an exotic vibe to it (apparently the owner has done some travelling) but the food seems to have mixed heritage. You will find a change to the menu every day, but... More
