Excellent wine

We went to Borbirosag twice during our short stay in Budapest. Wine selection was fantastic and we quickly became fans Hungarian wines. Food was good, but some dishes we liked more than others. Service excellent. Definitely recommend for wine enthusiasts.

I booked this on the basis of a recommendation for the first night in Budapest which happened to be my friends birthday. On arrival we were the only ones there which was a little daunting as we didn't know if this was a reflection on the place. It wasn't, we put it down to being a very cold Thursday evening.... More

This is a small wine bistro close to Market Hall (Vasarcsarnok Pest side) that offers nearly 99% only Hungarian Wines. The reason why I loved it most is that you can order any wine by glass they have on the wine list. There is a price list for wines by glass and one also for having it by bottle. Usually... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel, and serves Hungarian and French cuisine. The staff are very efficient and friendly without being intrusive, and were very knowledgeable about the food and ingredients. I have a nut allergy and the staff went out of their way to ensure there was something I could eat. So much so, the chef said to... More

I ate here with my wife and the experience was awful. - in the fish soup, the fish was raw and ice cold. - the steak contained large disgusting fat pieces - the desert was garnished with pineapple pieces probably from a tin.

First restaurant we've eaten in here and quality was very good, portions very large too. Staff very friendly. A few people were turned away when we were there as they were full so worth booking to avoid disappointment.

Husband and I stopped in here for a late lunch after a city tour that ended near the Central Market. It was a little on the pricey side by Budapest standards, but we appreciated the clean, modern interior and the location was ideal. My husband enjoyed his lamb chops a lot. I liked the lentil & vegetable dish that I... More

Nice restaurant with cozy atmosphere. But we ordered Halászlé - hungarian fish soup asked if its gluten free. Waiter convinced me that is absolutely yes! Unfortunately i had a big stomach ache after. I think this should not have happened! We just ordered soup and some salad maybe thats why he was not so friendly. I have visited many restaurants... More

Dear wwera, First of all, I'm really sorry about the stomach ache, I hope you feel better by now. On the other hand, we don't have clear picture, when have you visited us exactly, so we don't remember the concrete table (if you can specify, that would help), but I can assure you the following: - None of our waiter/waitress... Just out the great market on the Danube river, this is a beatyful restaurant. The blonde maid is attractive as the italian show girl Cristina Chiabotto. Bier was the most impressive surprise, fresh, sparkling and fruity.

Just back from a lovely lunch at this delightful restaurant near the Great Market Hall. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented with super service. Very reasonably priced too. Would not hesitate to recommend and would love to return.
