A chef truly 'the chef'

The lovely alley we were dining in outside the Borsso Bistro provided a harmonic night atmosphere. Summer at its best in Budapest, lovely temperatures for the two of us. The chef is 'the chef' since Borsso Bistro puts magic on the dishes. Wonderful starter (eg cheese/bulgur) and main dishes of duck... read more

While staying at Three Corners Art Hotel, which is just several meters from this restaurant, we spend an evening at BorsSo. The meals were excellent and the personnel were very friendly and service-minded. The prices were not low, but reasonable, regarding the good quality and the perfect location.

An excellent bistro style, fusion French and Hungarian cuisine. A bit expensive, but excellent value to taste gastronomic, elaborated cuisine. Excellent service, lovely environment in a quiet street. Went there twice in two different trips, great moment each time. Don't miss it!

We went here for our 33rd wedding anniversary while traveling in Europe, at Budapest for about a week. We walked by it one day and looked up other reviews and made a reservation. The service was really great and so was the food. Our server spoke fair English and did some back room research to try to answer our questions,... More

My husband booked this restaurant for my birthday dinner and we were blown away at how amazing the food and service was. The staff were very attentive and helpful in explaining the menu and very good at suggesting wines. One red wine was so good we bought a bottle to take home at a 30% discount. We both really enjoyed... More

The wine menu was very good. The food was standard. Nothing wrong, but nothing rocked. A tomato salad could have been stellar, but the the temperature of the salad was way too cold.

Simply put, a cosy place with delicious food, beautifully presented! High quality french-Hungarian food, with helpful and friendly servers who spoke very good english. If you want your pick of the menu, and to be guaranteed a table, arrive early: by 6.30, some dishes had only one portion left/were unavailable. A lovely bistro nonetheless!

We had dinner at Borsso Bistro (which according to our waiter, translates to PepperSalt) in early August. The restaurant is located at the corner of two quiet mostly walking streets and shaded from the evening sun. I had the prawn gazpacho (tasty and refreshing on a 90 degrees day) for an appetizer. For mains I had the thyme saddle of... More

We have visited this restaurant based on the excellent tripadvisor reviews it had but have been more than disappointed. First of all, the server first question (even before welcoming you) is to know if you have a reservation: why not if the restaurant is full but it was for sure not the case when we had dinner (half the tables... Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
