It's a cozy restaurant with good cuisine and extremely friendly staff. We visited it twice during our stay in Budapest and both times had great meals at a reasonable price. We were even offered a degustation set of different types of "Pàlinka" on the house. The staff speaks English rather well, our waiter even spoke Russian and explained the origin... More

Our dining experience at Borsso Bistro was a most memorable evening in Budapest. Upon entering we felt the pleasant ambience of the restaurant. The service was consistently attentive, friendly, and professional. We had candid conversations in English with the waiters about the "perfect" writing of the menu boards, wines, and explanations of menu items. Menu selections were quite diverse, very... More

Recommended by our hotel, this little bistro was fantastic. Highlights were the goose liver foie gras and ox cheeks. First time we ever had ox cheeks, and we are now huge fans! Server suggested a nice red wine. Live music with guitar and clarinet which did not overpower the ambience. Reservations are a must; it would be a shame to... More

During our recent trip to Budapest, we made it a point to try a different restaurant every night. We had a wonderful dinner Borssó Bistro. The service was attentive. We thought that the menu had some creative selections. The waiter suggested an excellent wine to go with the dinner. The restaurant has a nice ambiance to it. Our table was... More

Excellent menu and wine. We sat upstairs and had a view over the downstairs area. Nice gentle live guitar music.

We were eating relatively early at 7:00pm and there were two other tables. Our waiter poured my husband a skimpy glass of wine but that was later rectified by the manager. I ordered the five tomato appetizer and it was fabulous, and my meal of Duck, whild mushrooms and risotto was absolutely my best meal in Budapest, but oh my... More

We went to the Borsso Bistro expecting a lot bases on recent reviews. The evening got off to a poor start when I ordered a glass of wine. I am used to a 5 oz (150 ml) pour. I got just about half of that. I complained but was told that was their poor. Later I complained again and he... More

Our hotel recommended Borsso Bistro for lunch after a morning at the Gellert Spa. We arrived shortly before three and we were concerned that the kitchen was closed. Yet the waiter was pl;eased to see us and ushered us in to a neat, spare dining room. We had the most wonderful steamed chicken on a bed of yellow corn. Both... More

This restaurant was by far the best of our trip. Small card with fresh food. The red wines i've had tastes superb. A good place to have a great evening.

Enjoyed Borsso Bistro on recent trip to Budapest. Old style cafe/ restaurant interior. Creative menu choices, good service. The pork medallions entree was delicious. A bit pricey compared to other casual restaurants in Budapest, but still very affordable and worth it.
