Small, family style restaurant in the Jewish quarter. Great value for the money. Food is above average; had the schnitzel and the goulash. Both well flavored; the meat could have been better trimmed or grizzle but small critique for a very cute restaurant

The menu was quite varied and looked very traditional with a Jewish touch - different to anyone else we ate in Budapest. I had the beef goulash which was delicious! Friendly service, although the atmosphere was lacking a little, but great value and I definitely recommend you try this place!

If you like nouvelle cuisne and fancy food, forget it! If you like traditional Jewish food, this is the place to go. I will remember for a long time the goose cracklings, the home--made pickles, the cholent, not to forget the wonderful black cherry palinca! At Fülemüle,which means the Nightingale, the real existential question is no longer "to be or nt... More

The high rating eateries are not open on a Sunday in Budapest, so we thought we would try this place on the strength of the reviews. The venue is cosy and clean but the food is very basic , over salted and very expensive for what it is. The service is functional. The menu is traditional and home cooked but... More

Our first lunch in Budapest! Nice, with touches of Jewish flavor on the menu. Tasty, although the food was slightly salty (cholent was great!) Great service, very friendly. Go during the afternoon to get seated (2-4 pm) as it is popular with the locals at night. Great value! Recommended!

We had a really enjoyable dinner at Fulemule - probably one of our best - during our recent trip to Budapest over the New Year period. The restaurant is located on a quiet street, so is a little hidden away, but well worth a visit. It was very busy, so we were luck to get a table (we had to... More

If you like to eat really good Hungarian food this is your place. Centrally located you will enjoy excellent hospitality without the tape music that accompanies you everywhere nowadays. This is a calm place for intimate hours. This is why you can spot the odd celebrity now and again who also enjoys the relaxed atmosphere.

This review relates to the Christmas Eve set menu so may not be fair on the 'normal' service. Service was OK, but the menu was not to our taste at all and there was no vegetarian option though the latter was quickly dealt with by the staff. The real problem was paying twice what the meal was worth with both... More
