We had dinner for two at this very attractive Budapest restaurant. The concierge at our hotel highly recommended the place so we had great expectations of our dinner there. The prices are on the high side and there were several tables with single guests, mostly men, but one in particular stood out--Jude Law was eating alone at the table across... More

What a wonderful culinary experience! The appetizer, a variety of foie gras, which the Hungarians do so well, was remarkable. The pork dish (wrapped with bacon) was decadent and cooked to perfection. Our sommelier helped us choose the perfect wine for our dinner selections. What a delightful evening!

A beautifully elegant restaurant with a nice atmosphere! My husband and I were recommended theTigris by the concierge in our hotel. We are so pleased we took the advice! The staff were welcoming and friendly but the enthusiasm and knowledge of the Sommelier was quite amazing! At his suggestion we drank Hungarian 'Furmint' with our meal - this being a... More

After carefull deliberation...i chose Tigris as the place to be for my Foie Gras. I chose the fresh foie Gras with fig and fennel. I felt it as a bit underseasoned as a whole and it didnt blew me away as I hope. But everything was great. Very nice restaurant. With a great location.Just off the Vaci street and the... More

Had a fantastic meal here, staff were attentive without being bothersome. Our host was very knowledgeable on the menu, explained the specials board which was in Hungarian and made some very good recommendations. If you have no qualms about eating fois gras then the tasting platter is to be recommended. The sommelier delivered the wine list and was very helpful... More

I can't understand why this isn't higher than 44th place of Budapest restaurants. It's an ideal combination of local, tasty, authentic food, welcoming and warm surroundings and really helpful staff. We really enjoyed our evening there. The Manager was very attentive without being at all pushy, enjoyed some of the snippets of history about the place that he shared with... More

This family run restaurant is a food/wine lovers paradise. The owner takes you through the menu and provides you with recommendations - all of which we went for and enjoyed every mouthful. The sommelier then joined us at the table to enlighten us on which wines would work best with our choices. I look forward to returning when I am... More

This restaurant was recommended by our concierge at the Four Seasons and was just a few mins walk away. We were quickly greeted and seated. The manager was full of personality and very informative about the menu as were the excellent waiting staff. I had the creamy pumpkin soup with roasted mushrooms, I could've licked the bowl dry. Then I... More

A centrally located, good restaurant with a mix of international and typical Hungarian food. All is perfectly executed but a bit on heavier side - although, when ordering roasted foie gras it is probably difficult to expect anything else. Wine list is outstanding and sommelier's advice just perfect - a unique chance to taste the best of the local winemaking,... More

Based on recommendation we went for dinner at Tigris. Somewhat expensive by Hungarian standards but not really to western Europe. Great quality of food, mostly with local touch. the Foie Gras sampler was great. never had it together with chocolate. other courses were great as well, complemented by excellent local wine. Hopefully I can be back sometimes.
