Honesty and enjoyable meal

What my husband and I liked was that our waiter recommended sharing the foie gras starter - which was out of this world and certainly enough for both of us. Great recommendations from staff and they did not choose the most expensive on the menu - NOW that is honesty. Attentative service... read more

They have many foie gras specialties but also many other choices if fois gras is not your thing. If it is try the dark chocolate covered foie gras - we actually took the plate sampling all the foie gras specialties. Another amusing dish is the desert including beet and fenel - can't find this anywhere else!

We had dinner at Tigris a couple of days ago, I must admit it was superb from start to finish. Service was attentive and their Foise Gras selection is unique! The appetiser goose liver foursome is to die for. I had a great chat with the Restaurant Manager and with the Sommelier, many compliments for the wine list, I was... More

Wonderful service, great and challenging food, may be found strange but a very nice experience at a very reasonable price.

This restaurant has a varied menu which is explained well by the waiters, the wine selection is good and the standard and presentation of the food exceptional.

Treat yourself while in Budapest to an elegant (but not stuffy), relaxing, wonderful dinner here. The service was exemplary and very friendly, and the wine selection (including Tokaji, of course), was very good. Lovely, cozy atmosphere where you can easily settle in for a leisurely dinner. The foie gras is the star of the show here. We shared a warm... More

Without any doubt the best restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life so far. Everything was stellar! Highlights: . Relaxed, yet sophisticated ambiance. . Excellent service. Not only is the staff extremely attentive and pleasant, but their understanding of food, pairing and costumer service is second to none. We were showered with really amazing information on the... Excellent wine list. Small menu so food should be exceptional but it is not. The goose liver appetizer was probably the best of the six plates we had. Other two appetizers - tongue and goats cheese were unremarkable. Nice setting though.

Went here by myself around 5pm on a Tuesday.. Nobody in the restaurant, a bit early so had the full staff waiting on me. They brought me through the entire menu, advised on wines, made recommendations based on my tastes and described every course in detail. Started with an amuse bouche - amazing, had the fois grois to start- excellent... More

We were in Budapest with friends in September. We failed to make reservations earlier in the day so we took a chance on a referral from the concierge at the Hilton. Small intimate restaurant, very attentive staff, great food and a respectable wine list. Very different from the touristy outdoor cafes we had tried before. Best evening of our trip.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
