Our group loved our visit to the Onyx with the 8 course meal with wine pairings. The food was amazing and a real experience starting with the wonderful breadbasket. The service was right on target and friendly. The single tiny thing I can complain about is the lighting could have been a little lower but overall the atmosphere was next... More

This restaurant has unbelievable three course lunch option on working days. Sometimes fine time establishments have this offer in order to gain revenue from lunch, and the quality is on dinner side (so is the price). Onyx is not one of those places. Their lunch option is something to tell your grandchildren about! There are though a few places in... More

My first Michelin star restaurant...I had big expectations and boy it lived up to it ! I was very pleased with the experience. Nice stuff , amazing food and good atmosphere. It was romantic for me and for my husband and we still talk about it after almost two years. Would love to go back.....

I went here as a treat whilst on holiday with my boyfriend in Budapest. We tried the tasting menu - eight courses and three hours of food - and it was quite an experience. I expected to try some really interesting flavours and exquisitely presented dishes - this we did, for the most part. The presentation and attention to detail... More

This is a restaurant that attends to every detail,no matter how small. The food is exceptional, the service sublime, the decor faultless. The detail? My wife was given a tiny stool on which to place her handbag discreetly at the table. We were offered a bread tray, all house baked, with at least 20 different varieties to choose from. The... More

It's been a long time since I've experienced such a perfect evening in a restaurant that isn't stuffy, pretentious or overpriced. Onyx redefines "elegant" in a way that other restaurants should note. Let's start with the main room; creative interior design makes the most of the architecture using whimsy to nod at traditional decor. The inner dining room is a... More

Great food, great wine and good service. Not too helpful when one of us was pregnant and couldn't eat raw fish or meat, they were not willing to cook the fish or meat, but just to take it away so she ended up with mostly vegetables..

Staying in the Le Meridien Hotel Onyx was an easy walk from our hotel. It looked small but there were several rooms. It was very nice and surprising to see number of young people dining as it was quite expensive. The staff was unobtrusive and the food was excellent though expensive, but we did have a number of extra courses... More

This is one of the worlds finest restaurants with impeccable service and presentation of food. My wife and I dined last night and were simply blown away. Tried the "21st century" versions of Hungarian classics and found them to be most excellent. The bread trolly was mind blowing (probably 20 selections) and the meal wonderful. The only (slight) disappointment was... More

My wife and I ate here on one of the nights of our mini-moon, and had booked on the back of some reviews we’d read online and the fact that this is one of the Michelin starred places in Budapest. The restaurant is Things didn’t start particularly well with our visit, as we arrived at 9pm for our meal and... More
