This was another recommendation from our accommodation owner. It is a pub grub type of venue. Nice friendly staff. Food is amazing and cheap and there is a very extensive Hungarian menu including marrow on toast (divine), brains, schnitzels etc We could not eat all the food they served us. The duck came as half a duck and the sides... More

Located one block behind our favorite "Kiskakukk" we have not noticed it until the recommendation of our hotel staff. First trial was a failure - we went there without reservation and there were no vacant tables. (Cold and rainy weather prevented the use of external tables). The next time we reserved. We started with a bean soup, Jokai style. Very... More

hello, we made reservations for a table for four last Sunday at 1930. I was very excited to show this restaurant to my friends, and let them experience the good food we experienced here previously. So when we walked in my guests walked in first, mentioned the name and time for the booking, the bar tender and waitress immediately responded... More

Just visited tis small, intimate restaurant and had a very enjoyably evening with my grandson. The menus are in English and the food was very local. Very much worth a visit if you are in the area.

Local restaurant (we were the only tourists at that time) but can't share the other enthousiasts. Payed 6000Huf for 3 glasses of extremely cold red "wine", 1 starter and 2 main dishes comparable to the "wine". The only surprise was the bill but at the other hand would feel ripped off it it was more expensive. Kind service though.

The best of what you can get in Budapest: a place where locals (like us) go often as well as foreigners and at a decent/cheap price you'll get huge portions with nice service with pleasant atmosphere. We often drive from Buda few miles and look for 10-15 minutes for a parking place just to have a nice dinner here. Can... More

The restaurant is located close to Margaret bridge in the Pest side. Its small and lovely. The food is local and very very tasty. Careful - the dishes are very big, so if you take a starter and a soup - you have no room for the main course.... The service is very friendly although not in English, so we... More

Very nice little restaurant, with a wide range of typical hungarian food, if you are intrested in discover the culture of a nation, you cannot exclude the food. Suggested by hungarian friends for big portions and cheap prices as well as the quality of the food.

You get tasty food and decent portions at reasonable prices, especially in this emerging area. Strapachka is an all-time favourite, yet so much that I can never finish. Service is casual, but fits the ambience.
