Fantastic New Year's Dinner

We spent New Year's Eve at the Ribic (have been there several times before) and it was fantastic - no set menu or expensive rip-off as on other places at such an occasion but here a-la-carte and great quality as always: we had tuna steak and mussels bussara as starters and Branzino (baked in the... read more

I suggest to order for beginig mix plate with tuna. It's delicious. I think is better without cheese. My opinion. If you are still hungry, take some fresh wild fish with potatoes from owen. The desert is not the best option. But I think, that you don't need it anymore.

Excellent good. We liked the appetizers. Eg. : Tuna with goat cheese - not a common dish in Slovenia.

We went to this restaurant with folks who had been here, were fluent in Italian and were real foodies. We had a feast! From a seafood "amuse bouche" to an appetizer of three different pureed codfish (baccala) dumplings to an opening course of prawns baked in the local salt to a baked fish that was deboned and served to us... I have been in Robic since the late eighties. I was always delighted, came with whomever to this idyllic spot...with family, with friends, with colleagues from several continents...Somewhere in 2007,8 it started to go down...no fresh fish available...no blitva, but spinach from a can....prices going up and up...waiters whom I always liked were becoming like robots not interested in service,... We came here, cause we heard this place supposed to have good sea food. Risotto with sea food was delicious! And with the sunset even yummier :) The only thing that hit us a little, was the bill. I think it is a bit expensive, no matter the quality of the food.

Old reputation does not sell jokes of a sea food. Maybe nearby camp guests has ruined it. Interesting personel attitude but more like mediocre fast-sea-food in small nontraditional arrangements in a nice but dogs and cats overrun olive yard. It use to be a very good place to eat and relax. I hope this helps to be that again.

The ambient is realy nice but you have to smell the cigarette smoke from the guests. We had tuna with goat cheese that was a bit cold, but nice, mussles were really bad ( no flavour, a lot of flour inside), octopus was Ok. Not a good place for vegeterians. Funny friendly stuff.

Ribič use to be one of the best places to eat around Portorož. It's an old Slovenian place that people usually went to, when they wanted a nice fish or other sea dishes. I have visited Ribič yesterday again (after a long time) and i must say i am very disappointed. - We had tuna with goat cheese (listed under... More
