Our most recent visits to the Pavel and Pavel 2 restaurants ranged from lunches for two to dinners for twenty-plus. The food was excellent: fresh, tasty, and carefully prepared. All of our servers were pleasant and professional. On our last evening, we had an added treat: Mario oversaw our table service sharing his culinary expertise, entertaining an international crowd, and... More

We stopped in this restaurant for lunch. Great location overlooking the sea. I had fried calmari and frites and my wife had veal. There was nothing wrong with the food, but I would only rate it average. Service was adequate. It was quiet when we visited and there is a good choice of restaurants. One of the top ones rated... We've been going to this seaside paradise for years, sometimes just to eat at Pavels. There are two family run places next to each other just off the town center next to the dock area. The views are spectacular, especially in the evening as the sun sets in the West, toward Trieste. Their signature dish is a shrimp/seafood soup presented... More

A busy restaurant but great service. I started with some good mussels ,followed by Seabass. Like all the other Seabass I had on this holiday it was farmed. Which I suppose is good for the wild stocks, I just wish it tasted like wild fish. Some excellent Slovenian white wine.

After two nights eating at the same fantastic restaurant in Piran (Pirat), we thought we ought to venture out and try somewhere different. Pavel looks very pretty with a large covered terrace area directly on the seafront and judging by the number of filled tables, it was obviously a popular spot. We ordered a plate of mixed shellfish to start... More

The restaurant is great. Servce is great and food is great, but it gets too crowded, then immediately the service and food quality drops, as they are too rushed and can't cook for that many.

Pavel is certainly a very good restaurant, with high quality, no-nonsense food. What made our experience particularly enjoyable was our waiter Mario and his colleague, who entertained us for two days and simply made us feel like home. Priceless his reply when we asked for some butter: "No! It's not good for you. There's olive oil on the table!" Good... More

We visited Pavel as it seemed to have the highest TA rating of the restaurants along the seafront and that menu looked extensive and varied. It's a great location right by the sea and even though we went in the evening the atmosphere was nice. The food was pretty good, not amazing but not bad at all and good value... More

We stopped there for lunch. I wanted to try calamari. It was delicious. My husband had schnitzel. Very tasteful as well. The restaurant has big terrace to sit on enjoying the meal. Staff is profesional. Speaking Slovenian, English, Italian. Maybe even the German but I did not hear them.

I've been there for a lunch. I've ordered a tagliattele with scampi and porcini. Really great. Food was absolutely stunnig - made with fresh ingredients, very tasty. For a pasta, glass of wonderful malvazija and coffee I've paid 13 euros, which was very reasonable price. The service was very fast and waiter really nice - and he spoke in 4... More
