Nice place to relax after long walk

Very nice restaurant with a great variety of dishes and drinks. For us there was a bit of bad luck because there was construction around and noise was unbearable. Still, we had sandwich and coffee. Great service and lovely place

I'm puzzled by some of the more so-so reviews of this fine restaurant because there is very little wrong with this place. Firstly the setting in the castle is fabulous, - it was a great start to ride the funicular railway up in the light and back in the dark, with the cityscape below us. Then, the staff were attentive... More

We expected a bit more from a restaurant under the patronage of some of the most respected Slovenian chefs. In the end, none of the meals actually impressed us. And having chosen this restaurant to quietly celebrate a birthday with family and mark it with a special memory, the occasion will forever remain sullied with a bit of disappointment. No... More

I went there for a late lunch. The food was really good, felt traditional and home made. The service was excellent. The location is great. It was reasonably priced yet felt like expensive fine dining. If you go to the castle I recommend you to stop by! One minus: we had to wait a while to get served, although it... More

After a hike up and a great tour sat down outside in the spring afternoon for a glass of local Pinot Grigio. Perfect setting and relaxation before the hike down.

We dined here one evening after eating Bled cake there the day before when visiting the castle. Before dinner it was great to see the setting sun casting its warm light over the city from the castle terrace. We shared a cold meat starter and the thin sliced venison was exceptional as was the Slovene sparkling wine that we had... More

I am asked many times from foreign guests , what is a traditional Slovene food and where to go.The best is to climb on a castle of Ljubljana and make a reservation in this restaurant and take there one of their menus, combined with excellent wine list , where you could get top Slovene wines for an acceptable price , wrapped... We ended a long day spent up at the Castle with an evening meal in this pretty restaurant. We opted for The Walk Across Slovenia menu. The amuse bouche was a tasty trio of pork crackling (diced very small, and served hot), a herby smooth cottage cheese which tasted exceptionally fresh, and a smooth unctuous chicken liver pate served with... Located right in the middle of the medieval castle's courtyard, they insist on serving local specialties such as deer, calf liver, Slovenian truffles, local brews .... Food was great, setting is ideal to let kids wander around in-between dishes, service was good and not slow despite the Sunday lunch affluence. And the bill was surprisingly low for a meal of...
