Located right at the base of Funiculare to the Castle

We ate here for dinner after taking the Funiculare to the Castle. It was excellent. Asparagus was in season so many of their dishes included asparagus or you could order it as a side. I had the Porcini Mushroom Soup in a bread bowl - yummy! I had a bit of a cold so it was perfect for me. I... read more

Thematic, and focused on tourists. Helpful staff who can converse in English, reasonable priced beer, and very average food.

This restaurant is well located in the Old Town, far enough away from the absolute centre to avoid being too touristy (although we were tourists!) and offers an accent on traditional Slovenian food (without having to dress the waiting staff up in mock costume). The service was good - efficient, with English spoken and able to cope with dividing up... More

Dropped by because of time constraints. Conveniently located at Vodnikov Trg, the place is fairly large and has an impressive interior. Apparently there is no shortage of patrons. Service was good: fast and efficient. Cutlery and crockery is good. However, the food was just average. I ordered traditional beef broth with noodles, which was a very average broth indeed. Then... We had dinner here one evening during our short stay in Ljubljana, which is an excellent city in which to eat and drink. This restaurant is on a square between the market and the castle funicular. We ate steaks, which were excellent, the best of the holiday. The staff were friendly and helpful. Afterwards we enjoyed the restaurant's version of... More

Found this place on a Sunday night where most of the restaurants were closed. The homemade fuzi and gnocchi that my boyfriend and I ordered was delicious and came in a huge portion. We were each served a glass of complimentary wine (I forgot what it's called) at the end of our meal. The spirit was light and nice. The... More

We had a late night dinner here, arriving only after 10PM. But still we got served without any delay. Opting for a main dish and a salad, we got huge portions. The Caprese salad a a bowl that you could share in four. Also my seasonal ruccola was so big that it would do for five. We were hungry, as... More

We visited this restaurant 2 nights of our 4 night stay in Ljubljana. The fist night we had a platter for 2 that cost just €30, great variety of meats....so much that it could have done for 3 people. Second night I had lamb that was perfectly good and my husband had beef was also delicious. Each night the staff... More
