Good but perhaps a little over-priced

Didn’t find it easily as the Lonely Planet guide gives the address as being in the street behind the restaurant – should have checked their own website – but it was all good after that. Very professional staff, but still friendly and relaxed. Slovenian cuisine with good fish and rabbit dishes, but... read more

Spajza is in an a pretty older building with connecting small dining rooms with low timber beams and floor boards and understated tasteful decor, which then open onto a pretty terrace with trees and tables with white linen. It was an 'ahhh' moment as we made our way to one of the many beautifully dressed tables by our prompt and... More

Restaurant is centrally located but hidden in one of the less busy streets. Both inside and outside (garden) sitting is excellent. Food was very tasteful, wait staff very professional.

Not really sure what is so special about this place -- aside from the cute decor inside -- the garden is "OK" - but the white tarps hung above were all stained and filthy....really bad first impression. The food was good -- but by no means great. Had way better in other places in Ljubliana....

The setting for this restaurant was just idyllic, set in a courtyard garden with candles for lighting. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, and recommended some excellent wines. For my starter I chose trout with a horseradish terrine, which was just lovely. I then opted for the duck cooked with figs and cognac. Oh my! The duck was cooked... More

I went there on a Sunday's lunch. I really liked the atmosphere and cozy feeling in their garden. Service was fast and professional. Food was well prepared & tasty, but without superlatives. Maybe it's a bit pricier compared to others.

I went to Spajza for early lunch after a visit to the castle, and following recommendations here on tripadvisor. I ordered the mushrooms soup, the young horse fillet with truffles, and a local beer. The restaurant has lots of small rooms with a garden at back, where I ate. The soup is quite good, and the main course was also... More

I got high recommendations for Spajza. But they did not deliver. Food was less than average, but what stroke me the most was attitude. Very cold and very arrogant. If they think they can rest on Tripadvisor glory, they will have a rude awakening.

Lots of small rooms in an old town house, with garden at the back. Very good unfussy service. Traditional Slovene cuisine. We had bresaola with wonderful mozzarella, figs and honey; bacala wirh black truffle. Then rabbit fillet with bacon and capers; and grilled John Dory. It was fantastic. The manager was keen to talk about the food, and helped us... More

Had high hopes for this restaurant . The interior was nice and our waiter was great. Food - stake tar tar bad - too salty and too spicy , sauce already mixed with meat when served, not usually how tar tars are presented and we did not enjoy it. Horse carpaccio and sea bass carpaccio not bad but were icy... More
