We visited twice during our stay, good food, good drink bargain prices. Four of us ate and drank for £40. Huge portions of traditional food, pork knuckles, kebabs and ribs. Cheese and potatoes dumplings are gorgeous well worth finding this place, just at the back of the old town.

Even it is often hard to get a table on "last minute" during weekends, this place is where we go at least once in a month to enjoy a nice meal and some music. Portions are... HUGE, so you wont leave hungry. Staff is great and very helpful. Only minus side is that couple times did not receive our complimentary... More

Came here as we were looking for a relaxed place to go and we got it. The staff were pleasant and came into a welcome drink of mulled cider then taken to our table we were greated by our host and brought drinks. The beer was good but the food was quite frankly terrible the starter was grilled smoked cheese... More

On a recent visit with friends we had oven roasted duck with dumpling, beetroot purée and sweet white cabbage salad- simply amazing! The half a duck was just melting in your mouth and the glaze on it was making the skin crispy and delicious. The portions are big and thankfully we did not ordered any starters for it would have been... More

In the heart of the Old Town a really nice restaurant, an incredible price/quality ratio with a real nice atmosphere with typical live music too. Try the pork shank!

A friend took us here, Saturday night and no queue, a bit disorganised when we got in, but when we sat down it all improved. Great environment, long tables, a proper beer cellar type place, we ordered pierogi, meat platters, salads, barszcz etc. the meat platter was amazing, so much choice and delicious, my friend ordered a huge fish. Even... More

Podwale is very like a German beer cellar with good beer and hearty cuisine. I enjoyed boiled pork knuckle and sauerkraut; my colleagues both had trout with some freshly grated horseradish. We also tested the cheese plate which was very good. The atmosphere was great and not toooo noisy - good music in the next room. Waiting on table was... More

Our group of 3 just wanted starters and drinks at 1030 pm on a Sunday. The pierogi, bigos, and kielbasa were all tasty. Wine and beer good. Complimentary cherry vodka to end. Bill for 3 with tip was 120 zloty. Good value compared to UK

There is a great beer hall atmosphere in this place. Service is swift and efficient as well as friendly. Meals are huge, but apart from that the food is a major disappointment. The pierogi were a good consistency and well cooked, although not particularly tasty. The Polish chicken with smoked cheese was plain dull. The chicken overcooked and dry and... More

As usually the place is very busy, but as you are lucky to get the table you will enjoy. Simple but very tasty food, great beer, friendly service and a band with Warsaw type of mysic walking between rooms. Just the place to relax. Do not plan meeting there if serious business discussion is needed- you will probably not hear... More
