Elegant atmosphere, good food

Excellent food, with the possibility to get not only international cuisine but also Polish food. Good wine list with extensive choice. Friendly and competent staff, therefore a place I will return to.

We ordered the Caesar salad which was pretty much a travesty, being soggy and some inedible pieces of chicken. Staff was friendly enough though.

Visited Literatka in Febr.2015 with a kiddo. Sat outdoors. Ordered meat, chicken, salads - everything was delicious :-) nice waiters (even though the place is often crowded, they have to be in a rush). Took a bit too long, but the meal was worth waiting. Thank you!

I visited Literatka as part of a large group. We had a set menu, but the choices that were selected were great. We started with a serving of Zurek soup. I had neither heard of it previously nor had any idea what it would take like. Since I love sour, this was right up my alley. It was almost like... More

Next to old town square etc., with a costumed man trying to attract custom, it was obviously designed for clueless Brits like us. I have to say, though, that I was impressed. Clearly there were locals eating there (always reassuring) and they had the traditional fare that guidebooks tell you about with the additional advantage of Englush translations in the... More

Hot soup in a hollowed-out loaf of onion bread followed by delicious pierogi. Delicious. Not expensive considering the location. Service a little slow but why rush .... Lots of other great dishes on the menu so will be back next trip to try more.

We got there accidentally. Came in and saw a nice looking cake, so we decided to take a seat. The place is located in the main old square so I though it will be for tourists and overpriced, but there were a surprise! Very tasty pasta Carbonara and great dumplings! The desert was simply the best we've tried in Warsaw!... More

We've eaten here both inside and outside, lunch and dinner, and outside is definitely better. It is a great place to people watch as it is located on the main drag to the Old Town. I want to highlight one dish: The Polish steak tartare. It is better than any other version of this dish with much more garnishings. When... More

We ate inside, away from the charm of the square. The room was attractive, with nice table settings and linens. Service was very slow, and the staff did not seem particularly interested in their job. The food was mostly fair. The potato pancakes were quite greasy, the lamb portion was small and the fish was pretty bland, although the potatoes... More

Really liked this tourist restaurant cafe on the edge of the square at the entrance to the old town.........chose it at random on the first day and went back for lunch and an evening coffee the next three days. Very good service, fresh salads, and super dumplings.......lots of choice and interesting mixes in the salads. ( spinach, with raspberries, and... More
