I have no knowledge regarding Jewish food, so can't vouch for the authenticity, however the starter (liver with wild mushrooms marinated in wine and honey) was absolutely superb. For the main course I had the garlic pierogi, which was also delicious, although rather standard in terms of pierogi. The total bill came to just under 60 zloty (which also included... More

mandragora is a restaurant located at the rynek (market) which is a square at the center of the old city in Lublin (poland). this restaurant holds a tribute to the jewish traditional food and and jewish tradition, like: jewish songs and music concerts, jewish performences like a wedding... the restaurant is more like a cultural institution and worthy to visit... I tried this restaurant for lunch. I had the garlic soup an entree and some kvass. It was good but there were other items on the menu that weren't available that day. There online menu is different from when I was there. Food was good. I'd go back and try some other dishes. Prices are average.

Bingo We were in Lublin practically the first time. Wife really, and I after more than 50 years. That is all unknown. Old Town rising from oblivion, every day more and more beautiful. We were looking for a late lunch matched to a nice mood. I hit a Madragorę. Inherent quietly in one corner of the Market, which overlooks the... More

We have visited it quite early in the day, so could not get any bakery products yet. But still top class restaurant for it's amazing interior and Jewish music playing inside. Really enjoyed traditional Jewish coffee. The girl serving our table was a bit clumsy.

It was our first traditional Jewish restaurant and it made an unforgettable impression about this cuisine and culture. Interiors were very nicely decorated with antique and old-style authentic elements. National music added to overall experience of being in a Jewish home.Personnel was friendly, attentive and spoke English quite well. English menu was available in which all the unknown dishes were... Before The second world war there was a strong jewish comunity in Lublin. This is all gone, but you get a little sence at Mandragora. Even more so if you book a table on Fridays. Then the have an excellent kletzmerband. The food was good (goose), and plenitful (maybe a little bit too much). The wine list was very good.... More

It seems like they're trying too hard to capitalize on Jewish culture being alive in Poland and not paying attention to the food. I've had waaaay better everything in real Israeli restaurants in Toronto, thanks to my Jewish friends. This is a watered down version with really small portions. To be fair, the falafel (not the rest of the plate,... More
