Good street food

We had read a number of recommendations to visit the sausage seller who parks his blue van near Hala Targowa Monday - Saturday between 8pm and 3am. We joined a long queue of locals and other tourists about 8.30pm and waited about 20 minutes to purchase a freshly cooked, very tasty, meaty sausage... read more

OMG! Could these possibly be the best sausages on earth?? Don't be deterred if there's a large queue of locals, they know how good these are. This is one of the things I miss most about Krakow.

Not sure if it was an odd bad sausage or if they sold off a burnt frank to a foreigner, but it was not good. Black on the outside (burnt and 'carbony', not blackened like Cajun) and tough. Overcooked and probably cooked long before we ever showed up.

Having seen the kielbasa man mentioned in almost every travel guide/blog I looked up on Krakow, I knew that I had to pay him a visit. The idea is simple, a blue van that hangs out beyond a bridge at night in krakow that only serves kielbasa either with or without bread and a few drinks. I went in with... More

Read about this place on WikiVoyage and all I had to find this place was vague descriptions. Which I checked TripAdvisor instead. Went there on a Sunday night, nothing to be seen. Went there again the next day and wasn't disappointed! Fun to walk around Krakow to find things like these at night.

Picture the scene, you have been out in Kazimierz all night with some pals, you are on your way into the main square for a dance and, halfway there, hunger hits. Now you could keep going and get a kebab, you could track back and get a zapiekanka...but no, when you get to Dietla, hang a right and get a... More

hunted down this van after reading a review on the net and was not disappointed. the tastiest sausage i have ever eaten and the overall experience although slightly strange is great. no frills, just stand by a table with the locals and enjoy. they do not speak English and i do not speak any polish but a simple "one please"... When you stay in Krakow you should visit this stand. Even is you need to take a detour: just go. It is worth doing an extra effort.

We saw positive references on TripAdvisor and then it was a must during our stay in Krakow. We like this kind of street food and we were really surprised, how long was the queue - it shows that this place is really popular among local people. Sausages were really tasty, I definitely recommend to visit this place!

This place is something everyone who likes sausages must experience!! These kielbaski are in the newest travel books also, so either you are about to have a nice sausage grilled in front of you on flames for dinner or if you are just pinched after a good party in the middle of the night, no other way to go but...
