We happened on La Fontaine after many hours of walking around Krakow. It is right off the main market square. Only about six pm on a Friday night, so when we descended down the stairs into the vaulted ancient rooms, we were one of only a few people there. The establishment is part of a B&B and apartment which we... More

I have eaten regularly at La Fontaine since it opened over ten years ago. The food has always been outstanding: beautifully presented, well-prepared and tasty. Pierre prepares many wonderful dishes from the South of France with style and flair. The wine list is reasonably priced - a St Emilion Grand Cru at 160 or so PLN is truly a bargain.... More

This restaurant is definitely one of the best in the city! Just off the main square, it has 4 different rooms in it with 4 different styles of decoration, it is massive on the inside. The staff were extremely friendly, with some lovely bread and sides served as complements of the chef. The food was brilliant and served so quick!... More

It was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We ordered tornedos and got some pork-thing with a slimy potato terrine and 10 different things with a bad taste. We actually did hide some food in our napkins. It was expensive too. Don't go there!

I happened to stumble across this pub on Christmas Day with my g/f. We were hungry and just wanted some place to eat but we're not expecting the treat we had in store. A beautiful underground setting, we were brought into this boot with only one table which was really private, quiet and cosy. We were then treated to one... More

This was our first visit to Kraków and our first Polish restaurant experience. We weren't sure what to expect having never tasted Polish food before, but this restaurant served a mix of French and Polish dishes and we were not disappointed. We tried a mix of different courses that were not expensive. All three courses were superb, beautifully presented and... More

I visited this restaurant on new years eve and it was excellent! Everything was very well organized, food delicious, wodka everywhere ;). They opened up the second floor, so we could have a look over the square at midnight! One of my best new years eve celebrations!

Can't begin to imagine why this restaurant isn't ranked much higher on here. We like good food and have eaten in some lovely restaurants around the world. However, La Fontaine is going to be a hard act to follow ... Located just a stones throw from Rynek Glowny it's on a street just off one of the corners of the... More

Best onion soup in the world. We only had a starter here as we wanted to do starters, mains and pud in different places, but this place is amazing. Staff are very attentive, as said onion soup amazing, their gave us a free fish course - Salmon mousse and a free drink to end the meal even though we only... More
