A lot of menus in Krakow are very similar, craving fish we viewed the menu on street level. The entrance didn't look the most inviting, but after going down the steps we entered a restaurant with traditional decor. The food was amazing, presentation was fantastic and the dessert trolley was vast, offering a choice of three or five items, we... More

This restaurant is underground and has at least 4 different rooms. They asked where we would like to sit as it wasn't full. Its beautiful in any of the rooms. They brought a complimentary starter, which was lovely. We both had a main course, wine and beer and 3 deserts.we aren't greedy, they just brought them! They were delicious. Then they brought a couple of liquours,on the house. All this... Vast menu with Polish and French dishes. We were given an amuse bouche of cauliflower cream and smoked salmon which was very tasty, for mains the pheasant was very tasty but I would say the portion size seemed small, my wife had venison which looked a little more substantial and it was enjoyed also. Foolishly we opted for desert, which... More

After wandering the streets, looking for a restaurant to rival our first nights choice, destino - a wonderfully atmospheric restaurant, with quality food - we were coaxed into la fountaine by a exceptionally desperate sales troll. Our mistake began to hit home as we meandered through this cavernous maze, adorned with tacky objects and furnished with patio furniture. Any semblance... More

We chose to eat here on our first night in Krakow, we had been here three and a half years ago. The experience and ambiance was as we remembered. We had starters of Millefeuille of Fresh Homemade Duck Foie Gras and Little Crispy Dried Fruit Pies with Mulled Wine Jelly and Fruit Tagliatelle then for our main course we had... More

Just stumbled on la fontaine by accident. Went down the stairs to be greeted by a lovely young lady she gave us a small tour of the place and asked us where we wanted to sit .It was a labyrinth of underground fabulousness. The menu was an eclectic mix of French and Polish cuisine . I opted for the trio... More

The food was very tasty and there was a lot of choice on the menu. We were given free aperitif starters and a liquor after. The portions were sizeable. Nice ambience, in a cellar underground. Service very good and with a smile would recommend.

I spotted this restaurant on the way to our hotel during a recent trip to Krakow. We then returned later for our meal and so glad we did! La Fonatine is a lovely, ambient restaurant and staff were very polite and attentive. We were brought small appetisers (free) of salmon and toasts. For starters, I had the French onion soup,...
