Cozy Atmosphere & Pleasing to the Palliate

I took a wrong turn and decided to take a chance as I passed the signs for the entrance of La Fontaine. Being up for a little adventure, I navigated the passage and stairs to enter this hidden gem in a cellar. The wait staff are very friendly and stopped by the table to often to make sure I was... read more

La Fontaine sails under the French flag but its mediocrity leaves you asking which nation's cuisine could possibly have inspired such insipidity, if not outright distaste. How a supposedly French restaurant can compose a menu and execute meals with such lack of refinement as La Fontaine did on the eve of the 9th January is almost beyond comprehension. It may... More

Restaurant is down in a cellar and we found it by chance. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The service was very good and our food was excellent and very reasonably priced.

From the moment you are greeted at reception , to paying the bill, the service is excellent. Restaurant is downstairs ( as are most restaurants in Krakow) in in a beautifully created atmosphere. Lovely french quisine & they really live up to their reputation ( French onion soup as we have never tasted it before !!!). Main course of Hunters... More

Its down a couple of flights of shallow stairs, where you are greeted & seated by friendly staff. Notably you can smoke in the bar , before & after your meal , if you want to enjoy that last smoke after really clever fine dining plates . We ate there 2 nights out of 3 . The Venison Goulash &... We stumbled accross this little gem & were so glad we did, at first we weren't going to go in because it didn't look particularly inviting from the outside, however the whole experience was fabulous, the food, wine & the service was first class. We were only in Krakow for 4 days so didn't get chance to go back. I... More

My husband and I visited for a special meal whilst on a Xmas market short break. Excellent quality food with attentive friendly staff. Total cost including a bottle of prosseco, 2 courses plus Irish coffee was under £60! A little more expensive than some but well worth it for a special Al La Carte meal.

It is worth coming here. The food really is great, tasty and creatively served. We have tried a pheasant as well as sea food platter and a selection of 5 desserts. All perfectly executed. Some great cook working here and we are already thinking about coming back. However... Service is ridiculous. Even if some of the staff tries to be... More
