The decoration and the service are from another epoch. It is like being taken back a 100 years. (What I know of restaurants of that time is from books and movies.) The food is very good and the service is extraordinary-waiters in formal dress who seem to anticipate your every wish. The traditional atmosphere of this restaurant would be a... More

Top service, Top food - and the atmosphere is just amazing. Where else can you have a dinner in the "Armor room" and eat a close to perfect meal surrounded by swords, halberds and lances - not all of the is replicas - in a 650 year old restaurant. As the wife said it;" I had a three course meal,... More

This restaurant is just off the main square at Krakow, we looked several times at the menu, but looking through the door was just a reception area. Hidden delights are 1 floor up. old world restaurant with excellent service and food to die for. Enjoyed every minute

Very old school place: typically central European. Not exactly intimate: they could do with some advice on lighting! But service was smiling and efficient and the food was excellent. We particularly enjoyed sturgeon Wierzynek style, the beef tenderloin and the chocolate souffle with tangy raspberry sauce. Nice riesling by the glass but better sauvignon blanc. It was lovely sitting in... More

I visited for a business meal and it is certainly the smartest and most formal restaurant I have been to in a krakow. The was excellent, very meat orientated, and the service was second to done. Definitely a place to go for a special occasion or a business trip.

Loads of atmosphere in the 650 year old building. Fixed price menu provides good value. 190PLN gets you 5 courses including wine. With extra drinks we spent £80 for two and it was worth every penny. As with most restaurants in Poland staff expect tip in cash not on your card.

We decided we liked the look of this very old building but we stood for ages inside the door waiting for someone to seat us, despite being seen by staff in the rear seating area I had to door open to leave before someone came, then we had 2 or 3 staff altogether. Where had they been???? Anyway we got... More

We had dinner there: first, we were impressed by the beautiful decoration which seemed to creat a special ambience, however, once we got to the private hall/big room where they sat us ( second floor, if I am not mistaken, lots of stairs) it felt a little too big, impersonal in many ways. And then they started serving the food,... More

Krakow has a very vibrant and excellent restaurant scene, with literally dozens of fine options in a small area in or near the square. But it's not every day you can eat at a place that's been there for 650 years (they must be doing something right)! Initially, we did not book a reservation over concern about the price, but...
