Lovely dining experience with good food and excellent service

We were recommended to this restaurant by a native Krakowian and it certainly did not disappoint. The guidebooks tell you that European sovereigns have eaten in this place. Despite what several reviewers have said, as with many other restaurants, this restaurant is only expensive depending on what you order. Relatively speaking, I suppose the prices are slightly more than many surrounding restaurants but you are paying a premium for the historical value of the building. In terms of the food, we were treated to an exquisite goats cheese... More

At the end of our staying in Kraków, my wife offered a supper in restaurant Wierzynek. We went there on a quiet not-to-warm summer night. The lady got us a table on the first floor, overlooking the Main Market Square. We both had a delightful evening meal (duck breast for her and venison and quail for yours truly). The waiter suggested... More

Fantastic high end date - night dining. Great selection of food delivered with a flourish. The boar soup was fantastic, and among out table everyone had the best soups and entrée s of our vacation . A great touch was the selection of old meads, the flight of polish liquors and some older polish cocktail recipes to explore outside of... More

It took me over 12 hours to think about this review, but I am afraid it might take longer to forget what I ate :( This is restaurant have over 7 centuries of heritage! Magnificent and spectacular interiors with amazing view over city Square could be the only honest reason to visit. Visiting Wierzynek is a game of expectations, they... More

I chose this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday at while we were in Poland. Although expensive for Poland - what you get is cheap by North American standards. This restaurant was established and has been operational since 1364. Many years of service and experience. Historic décor with beautiful old paintings on the walls. Superb white glove service with hot... More

Having read about how this was THE restaurant of choice in Krakow for traditional Polish cuisine, we made reservations (so we thought) for dinner. Communications via their website and regular emails were not answered. We finally had our hotel call when we arrived in Krakow and confirmed that there was in fact, a reservation in our name. Our tour guides... More

Wondered whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars but eventually decided on 3. Food very good but with one exception nothing fantastic (we stayed 15 days in Poland in a number of cities and this place, though the most expensive, did not make the top 5 of where we ate). Menu a bit short for a restaurant of... More

We wanted to enjoy the Wierzynek food but didn't want to miss the outside scene in the Rynek, and happily Wierzynek has such tables. The food was excellent, I had pork medallions, which were excellent.

We did not book a table but were able to walk in and get seated. I had the beef tenderloin and a white chocolate mousse. Both were spectacular! My boyfriend however had the deer and I didnt like that. This is a posh restaurant in an old historical building. Very romantic and the service is great. I would recommend to... More
