Like many other travellers to Kraków we had read about this restaurant and its fascinating history, also its reputation for fine dining. It certainly was an experience not to be missed - the attention to detail, the impeccable service and the general ambience of the restaurant in such magnificent surroundings. The food was first class and beautifully presented, we really... More

I really don't understand why anyone would leave a positive review for the food at this place. The service was good and lives up to the standards of a fine dining restaurant. The atmosphere is lovely if you get a table by the window overlooking the square. The food however was the worst meal we had during our trip across... More

As our break in Krakow was my birthday treat we chose the Wierzynek for a meal on my actual birthday. The setting is - as in other reviews - fantastic. We had a window seat overlooking the early evening square. The view inside is also well worth a look. The restaurant and service is wonderfully old fashioned and the food... More

On our second trip to Poland we decided to focus on Kracow. Every guide book and reference said not to miss Wierzynek. They were all right on the mark. The first recorded meal served here was a 28 day wedding celebration for king Casimir in 1368. What happened between then and now, I do not know but I can say... More

I had heard so much about this restaurant before arriving at Kraków that I had to book a table for us to have dinner. And to my surprise there was a Chopin concert by one, Katryzna, who played so passionately that after each piece she was exhausted yet exhilarated. Of course you have too pay extra for it. But worth... More

I had the privilege of dining here on a recent visit to Krakow. The ambience of the restaurant was great, the food was outstandingly good and the service was impeccable. This is definitely a restaurant that I would visit again and I recommend it unreservedly.

The food was very good but not the best I have had while in Poland, but the total ambiance of the place overlooking the square was to fantastic, My parents had eaten there many years ago and loved it and even received a commemorative medal(which is no longer available). The service was great and dining in one of the oldest... More

We had lunch here and it was the highlight of a 2-week business trip in Europe. The service was excellent and the food was just amazing. We recommend the roast duck and the pierogies (ordered by a colleague who is a Krakow native!). A very elegant setting that is very good for conversation and relaxation. Excellent wine list and really... More

this is genuinely accepted as the oldest restaurant in Kraków, it is probably also the most expensive. There are probably loads of restaurants where food is better, loads where value is better, but as an overall experience it does tick the box for me. Very grand, very formal, very attentive service. We had a table on the first floor in... More
