I visited for a business meal and it is certainly the smartest and most formal restaurant I have been to in a krakow. The was excellent, very meat orientated, and the service was second to done. Definitely a place to go for a special occasion or a business trip.

Loads of atmosphere in the 650 year old building. Fixed price menu provides good value. 190PLN gets you 5 courses including wine. With extra drinks we spent £80 for two and it was worth every penny. As with most restaurants in Poland staff expect tip in cash not on your card.

We decided we liked the look of this very old building but we stood for ages inside the door waiting for someone to seat us, despite being seen by staff in the rear seating area I had to door open to leave before someone came, then we had 2 or 3 staff altogether. Where had they been???? Anyway we got... More

We had dinner there: first, we were impressed by the beautiful decoration which seemed to creat a special ambience, however, once we got to the private hall/big room where they sat us ( second floor, if I am not mistaken, lots of stairs) it felt a little too big, impersonal in many ways. And then they started serving the food,... More

Krakow has a very vibrant and excellent restaurant scene, with literally dozens of fine options in a small area in or near the square. But it's not every day you can eat at a place that's been there for 650 years (they must be doing something right)! Initially, we did not book a reservation over concern about the price, but... More

We decided to go there to try to eat diner in a “historic place” where historic events happened. The restaurant is believed to be Poland oldest restaurant. We have been there 4 persons. The place and food lived to its image, plenty of historic atmosphere, the food was OK and professional waiters. However the price level seems to be tourist... More

Having researched and pre booked for what we hoped would be a lovely and special birthday meal for my wife before we left home, Wierzynek absolutely exceeded our expectations. We visited it a day or so beforehand to check the reservation and decided to book seats for a piano concert beforehand knowing that there was a 10% discount on menu... More

After the relentless tourist-driven restaurants in Rynek Glowny, it was a real delight to find a genuine high-class restaurant with excellent food and rink served impeccably by friendly yet discreet staff. Don't eat here first; it will spoil you for any other restaurant in the city. Save it for when yet another pork cutlet might tip you over the edge.... More

This restaurant offers fine dining as it should be done. From the amuse buche to the service everything was perfect. We had a table on the second floor overlooking the square at night. Great ambiance with beautifully cooked and presented food. Wine can be a bit pricey but the maître de was very knowledgable and recommended a great Hungarian wine... More
