This is really a restaurant worth mentioning and I'd like to give it a short T/A review. We were in Krakow for three days and we ate there twice. It's just off where one of the entrances to the main square is and next to tram stops. It's where locals eat, very unpretentious, and the food is genuine Polish and very inexpensive—and delicious! There is an English menu so it's easy to choose what you want and to order it. The two times we were there, it wasn't crowded and there was no waiting. It was very peaceful and quiet and well ventilated. Well worth knowing about. There was a blog about it on your website.

Great place, cheap decent food.

Was taken here by friends from Krakow and went back on my own another day, really nice selection of authentic dishes at bargain prices, nice atmosphere a well. Keep in mind that they don't do a waiter service, you have to order and pay at counter (where English menus are available on request).

Small place. Very quick service. Close to the Main Square with the expensive and famous (Wierzynek, Havelka) restaurants. You get there all basic and standard Polish foods: pierogies, nalesniki (crepes), gołąbki (stuffed cabbage), kotlet schabowy (pork schnitzel), wide range of Polish soups (barszcz (borscht), rosół (chicken soup), żurek and many more; potato pancakes (most American-Jewish latkies (even from Zabars on... Yes, it is a self-service restaurant but that is quite common in Krakow, don't let it discourage anyone because the food there is excellent. It is Polish food, portions are big, you can chose between around 15 different dishes. The atmosphere is also nice and cozy. We went as a couple, payed around 60pln altogether (two 0,5 beers included). Oh,... More

An excellent place for quick real Polish food. Food is fresh, portions huge and very reasonably priced.

What a great find this place was. 2 course meal for around £5 proper polish food and generous portions. You need to order at the bar and the staff speak very little English. If you want to sample the local cuisine free of tourists try this little gem you won't be disappointed

Nice restaurant. I think the value is ok, even if it's not that impressive. It's a "self-order" restaurant, so you will never see a waither coming to you and take your order. I really mean, never. Funny thing: the Coke is priced 2.99 zl on the label, but thry sell it for 5 zl... Never mind.

This restaurant is self service and as a inn polish speaker a bit daunting but staff are helpful. Quality is nit quite as good as I remember from my first visit a few years ago. The sour soup (zurek) seems to have suffered a bit but you can't really foul a place where for approx 12 PLN you can get... More

Bar Smak is located not too far from Krakow's Main Square. This eatery is very popular amongst the locals as well as international tourists (well those with a limited budget I would believe) visiting Krakow. It is a type of self- serve eatery where you have to order at the bar and someone brings your order to your table later.... More

This tiny cafe offers (what others recommend) as some of the nicest Polish food in the Centre. Prices are cheap, service is quick and the setting is quaint. And to the reviewer below stating that he sat down alone unserved for 6 minutes... there's a big sign above the counter that says 'Self-Service' Try it if you can get a... More

First of all to the previous review - in this place you have to order at the bar; they don't wait tables. I even suspect this place is family-ran and it's only 2-3 staff. I've been to this place many-many times on one occasion even 3 times on the same day. As I said you have to order at the... More
