This is really a restaurant worth mentioning and I'd like to give it a short T/A review. We were in Krakow for three days and we ate there twice. It's just off where one of the entrances to the main square is and next to tram stops. It's where locals eat, very unpretentious, and the food is genuine Polish and very inexpensive—and delicious! There is an English menu so it's easy to choose what you want and to order it. The two times we were there, it wasn't crowded and there was no waiting. It was very peaceful and quiet and well ventilated. Well worth knowing about. There was a blog about it on your website.

Looking for real polish dishes? This is the place!

This is the place to find really tasty polish food for a really good price, maybe the best price in the city center. Here things are kept simple: you just walk in, order your food at the bar, and then go sit at the table. 5min later (max), your food will be ready.

Stumbled across this place by chance and was seriously impressed. Had a lovely two course dinner that cost the equivalent of €4 that would still have been good value at twice the price. Soup was a simple chicken and noodle broth and main was fried pork escalope in breadcrumbs served with mashed potato and pickled cabbage. Filling and surprisingly tasty.... More

Came across Bar Smak by accident when we were staying in the area. Called in on a wet Wednesday evening at 9.30 pm and we were served and fed by 10.00 pm Impressive! We had the 16 zl.menu (with exchange rate; cost of approx 4 Euro each) .This also included a free soup. Food portions were generous and typically polish.... More

Really nice food, friendly staff and what I can only describe as the most authentic Polish food we've had all week, with fair sized portions and a soup included with most items on the menu. It's where the locals eat, need I say more. English menu avaliable at the bar so don't be put off by a lack of apparent... More

Menu on the wall, a great range of Polish soups, pierogi, potato pancakes and thin pancakes plus Polish stews like bigos. All very day to day Polish food excellently done and most dishes about £2. Great range of bottled beers and draft Tyskie. I really recommend the Zyweic porter to those who like dark smooth ales. Find this place and... More

Huge portions of hearty Polish food for bargain basement prices - felt like a traditional Polish eating experience. The food wasn't exactly amazing, but I suppose that is the point - pierogi, cabbage, meat, zurek - stodgy Polish classics. And VERY cheap.
