A real hidden gem

Chata serves great Polish food at really good prices, with the restaurant also having a nice ambience to it. Whilst it's slightly off the main square and tourists are probably not likely to just pass, it's well worth taking the time to find this place (it's about 10 minutes slow walk from the... read more

My boyfriend & I had dinner here in Jan 2014. It was snowing outside and chata was so cosy. The meal was delicious and we had a couple of the flavoured vodkas to round off our meal. 3 courses for two people and drinks was only £25, outstanding value. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Krakow

My wife and I visit Krakow last summer, and all I can say is Chata is one of the best restaurants on the planet. The food is amazing, and so well-priced it's ridiculous. It's slightly out of the city center, but the extra few minutes of walking will be good for you after all the amazing food you'll consume. We... More

This place was just down the street from my apartment, 3mins walk from Krakow Old town. Going in you notice the place is like an old inn and it was great. As the previous review have said, yes there is only 1 lady serving the food however she is very friendly and the place is not too big anyways. The... More

Wooden interior, folklore music, delicious traditional cuisine, waitress in folk costume, seating on sheep fur and the crackling of fire just next to your table. It's worth to visit in these cold days.

Nice charming small restaurant. Waitress was very nice and helpful, atmosphere is warm and cozy. Food is amazing, and on the top of everything prices are more than acceptable. For two appetizers, two main meals, two desserts and two beers we paid around 20 €. If you want a hearty traditional polish experience you should definitely go there. If you... More

Chata was near our hostel so we went there to eat. They have only one waitress and she is the slowest person ever. You have to wait about half an hour for her to only come at your table and give you the menu. The food was okay but really nothing special, the worst I have eaten in Krakow. Goulash... More

We ordered goulash served in buns. It hardly had any taste or anything to do with what goulash should be like. Don't get fooled by the atmosphere and the prices, you can do much better than this.
