Back in Kracow after a year. Down to Szara Kazimierz for a special treat with wife 1. Fond memories after visit last year. Table outside in one of Europe's most atmospheric's district ; warm summer evening, classical music drifting down Szeroka. Setting could not be bettered for old Europe at its best. As for the restaurant; service prompt efficient, friendly.... More

Mary Beth and I took a group of her college students (12 students) to dinner here. We were happy that the restaurant could accommodate our group on short notice. Our server (Agnes) was great. The food and wine were fabulous. The students were very happy, and many of them mentioned that our delicious dinner at Szara Kazimierz was a highlight... More

The food in Poland in general seems to be bland but at Szara it was less so and very nicely done. The choices of matzo ball soup and gefilte fish and other old time recipes brought back many memories. Adding to our pleasure was the background music of old Yiddish classics being played. It may not have been gourmet but... More

We took the long shot by just going to the restaurant without having made reservation. The staff was so kind to rearrange some tables for us. Not so much later it got pretty busy and all tables were occupied, so we were just in time. Our waitress (Natalia) was very friendly, spoke good English and knew the menu by heart.... More

We were staying in the Eden Hotel which is just around the corner so we didn't want to venture out too far for a meal on our first evening in Krakow. We walked around the square and this was the one place that really caught our eye. The food was excellent, we went for the 82 zl supper menu which... More

Definitely worth visiting during your Kazimierz tour - conveniently located at renowated square, it is a very good place for lunch. There are some seasonal dishes worth trying - e.g. asparagus with hollandaise sauce & poached egg (very good; although I would not peel off green asparagus). We also had porcini risotto, chicken caesar salad and chicken breast - all... More
