A Little Gem

Piwnice Palacu Pokutynskich PPP restaurant is really a little gem, or perhaps a well kept secret by the locals. It is only about 500 m from Planty or ~700m from Rynek (the Market Square), but you will find mostly Cracowians eating there. The restaurant is located in the historical cellars of an... read more

When you eat in a Polish restaurant you should start with a soup. Try the Zurek, it was very good. The restaurant has a variety of dishes with mushrooms, apparantly it is a speciality of this restaurant. We tried pork with chanterelle sauce - delicious. For the desert we tried the cheese cake - a bit dry and compact for... More

I went there a couple of times. It truly is a hidden gem, not far from the city center. If you love Zurek and polish cuisine, it's worth the trouble finding it.

If you are staying in the neighborhood of this restaurant, it is a good option for something close. The service was friendly and the food was good.

What an amazing meal we had on our last night in krakow. Awesome food brilliant staff. For 225zl around £45 we had 3 massive main courses and 2 drinks each. The staff were talkative and funny. The food was the best we had while we've been here. We found this place by accident and I'm pleased we did. Our daughter... More

If you want an elegant ambience, great food and excellent service you should not miss this place. The restaurant is located about 5 minutes from the Main Market Square, in a beautifully renovated Pokutynski Palace. I had some typical Polish dishes, like >barszcz< (red beetroot soup) and pierogi. The portions were big and the food was excellent. So was the... More

Well here i was invited and its the top of tops, or the creme de la creme. Do not think its cheap because its not but the food , service, quantity and the way its served is excellent. Beetroot soup , Wild mushrooms and a whole skewer of meat flamed in half a bottle of Hennessy brandy in front of... More

All restaurants in Krakow are cheap. Not sure the cost of this but the four of us typically paid the equivalent of £80 for 2 or 3 courses and a bottle of wine (wine tends to be expensive).

We were staying at the Hotel Maksymilian across the road from this restaurant and was recommended this restaurant by our tour guide Jack from the Discover Krakow tours. The first time we dined it was very busy and a great atmosphere. Between us we had Shrimp Cocktail, soup, Grilled sirloin with rokfor sauce, potato balls and various salads, Gypsy steak... More

The staff are really helpful. The food was amazing. Beautiful little place also. Not likely to stumble on it... But we did... Luckily!
