Much better on the first visit

We ate here on two occasion. It is the restaurant which is part of the Hanza Hotel. If we had reviewed this after the first visit, it would have been 5 stars, however, the second visit was not as good. The food is a contemporary twist on local cuisine and on the first occasion it was sublime. The... read more

If you've become a bit tired of 'theme', regional, 'traditional' places, this room is 'modern international' in that you could be in any capital city in the western world. However, after hard chairs, wood floors and bare lights, a bit of softness and comfort doesn't go amiss, and thick carpet, stiff linen, comfy chairs, good lighting are all here. The... More

loved the fact that the ingredients were always FRESH and local. tried few dishes , some were excellent (like the fish soup) , others were well presented and fresh but avarage taste . the atmosphere indoor is not as nice as outside , as the furniture inside is more " hotel style " , a bit "old school" .

We had a lovely steak and goose breast - absolutely top, bettered only by the desserts. I still rate the restaurant with 4 as the price of the wines were too high and the atmosphere was dim. Few guests. But the food was lovely indeed, and a nice waiter,

It was our last night in Gdansk, and by chance we stopped at Kokieteria for a beer and a glass of wine. Seated at the nice terrace outside by the river, we were really charmed by the excellent service by our waiter, who even found a separate chair to put my purse on (this have never happened to me before... Excellent service, a good steak and a very impressive dessert. Really good value for your money. I can't find anything to complain about.

I was staying in the hotel and had a great meal here, the staff were all smiles and spoke perfect English. Beautiful dessert as well!

This restaurant was at the ground floor of our hotel, so we went there several times. The food is great (I especially recommend the goose -- delicious!) and there's enough space that you feel you can have a conversation without having to shout (because your neighbours are also talking). The prices are very reasonable.

We had an absolutely wonderful dinner outside on the terrace. The entrees were updated interpretations of traditional Polish cuisine. The presentation was beautiful and the food was simply delicious. Our waiter attended to our needs promptly. He even provided blankets as the night-time chill descended. You cannot beat the location, on the river, steps away from the famous crane. It's... More
