very enjoyable meal. fantastic value. would go again. We have eaten out in Gdansk for a few days and feel that this restaurant deserves a special mention. If you want nice tasty food and drink at a good price then this is a very good restaurant.

Wanted to try this place after various stumbling across various reviews. Glad we did!! Was a pleasant evening so we sat outside (not so good lighting). For drinks we ordered the homemade lemonade which was refreshing and I ordered a wheat beer from Amber Browar. We chose the Balkan sharing platter which contained various grilled meats on top of spicy... More

On my first visit to Gdansk( Danzig) I asked the receptionist what h e r favorite restaurant would be that was close by and where one could enjoy the best of the region's food.Swojski Smak, her favorite, now would be my choice ,too, as I dined in the following eight days in Sopot,Leba, Hel and Stettin. Only a 5 minute walk away from Bonum Hotel. This was the friendliest, cleanest, good value for money eating place! Shame we only discovered it on our last night! However, the staff were very helpful and the food was served hot and plentiful. We were given a sample of their home-made apple vodka upon paying the bill....it was like liquid... More

We were taken there by our guide which always makes me suspicious of their motives but I should have had no concerns, the place was lovely and the staff very friendly. It provided a great opportunity to try out local dishes and cuisine and we were not disappointed. The menu was in English which was needed as there were dishes... More

Great local beer and a feast of a meal for two, all for just 100 zt. The herring appetizer was especially good.

Went to Swojski Smak 3 times during our stay in Gdansk. Prices reasonable for well cooked food and good sized portions, possibly because it is a few minutes walk from the city centre. Outside initially a bit off-putting, but once inside the staff were friendly and spoke fluent English. English menus are provided if needed. Customer service excellent - when... More

If you're looking for below the mark service and irregular food quality for a cheap buck in a cheap interior setting this is the right place for you. However, if you're after a pleasant restaurant visit: aim for the restaurants down by the canal instead.
