Me and my boyfriend visited this lovely restaurant twice (!!!!) during our stay in Gdansk this week. The location is excellent and the staff was friendly and spoke good English. We ordered "golden Camembert with fries and cranberry sauce" both times because we were so happy with the meal. It consisted of a fried Camembert cheese, fries and separate cranberry... More

The location of the restaurant is wonderful and it was easy to get a table there on a summer evening, hence I give it two stars. The waitress did not seem too interested in us but I must admit that the service was quick. My partner had livers in raspberry sauce. They were rather tasteless although nicely served. I had... More

We went to Barylka because of the recommendations in both Rick Steves and Frommers, and its beautiful location on the riverside embankment of Old Gdansk. Barylka is right next door to Goldwasser, a more prosperous and upscale restaurant -- and, based on my experience, a better one. Nevertheless, Barylka is not at all bad, and offers good, solid Polish cuisine... More

We sat at this place because the "Best of 2013" stickers were all over the place. I should know better to not be lured by stickers, so shame on me. My lesson learned is a teaching moment for the rest of you.... The food was decent enough, maybe not considering the price, but decent. They have a variety of options... More

We were really disappointed by this restaurant. Let 's put it right by the food of this restaurant. The cook had a bad day? The waiting staff was friendly but looking back at it, a bit afraid - I have the impression they knew it was not as it should be. What was wrong? The duck was dry, the cod... More

After a short week in Gdansk, we found this to be our very favourite restaurant in town! THe service was excellent and the food very good. Our recommendation is to go for the set 5 course menu - great value, and you get a good selection of local delicatessens cooked to perfection. It is also possible to order the same... More

We ordered a Cæsar salad with a side order of fries and bort was terrible. The chicken was chewy and smelled of fish, the salad was unfreash, and they chose to use a distasteful balsamic vinegar in stead of Cæsar dressing. In adition the fries was soft and greasy and the price allmost double the Localprices

Barylka was one of the best restaurant I have ever been to. For sure beat in the city. Fantastic food and very good service. Top location and very nice interiors especially restaurant on first floor. I would highly recomand it to every one who wants to taste real polish cuisine.

Went in for lunch but was relatively dissatisfied. Ordered a Caesar salad which had no resemblance to a Caesar Salad (received a rocket, balsamic, tomato and cucumber salad instead). The onion soup was tasty but needed more bread with the soup. The desserts were truly subpar. The waiting staff were a tad rude and did not seem pleased to have... More

We have been there few times and previously we were happy with the place. However the last visit was different. The food was very poor quality and not nice. We have ordered some salad and the polish dumplings made with meat, and both of them were awful. The dumplings were fatty and overcooked. We have tried local food many times... More
