We had a fish meal (halibut filet) at Tawerna. Just one word to say: Perfect! We come from the western part of Norway and know how a good fish meal shall be. Excellent service!

Tawerna is a very pretty place (old-world style) and service is sporadic and inconsistent, but very friendly and competent when they are focused on your table (if that's confusing: they disappear for long periods, seem to suddenly realize they have not come by in awhile, run over and are very good, are friendly and seem like very nice people, and... This is one of the more expensive restaurants in Gdansk, but we wanted a good meal, and that we got. The waiters are always standing in the doorway so if you need something, they will be at your service immediately. I ordered the vegetarian dish, and it was amazing. My friend ordered the salmon dish and she also loved it.... More

Very good old world restaurant with a varied menu(i.e Polish/European) and while the wine list is a little pricey I would strongly recommend for dinner etc.,

Quality price ratio is not good. Food is ok but compared to price level it is not that recommendable. Have been visiting in this restaurant as well several times, but If can have a vote my choice is not Tawerna.

This is for me the best restaurant in Gdansk. An high quality of the food and the service are the strength of Tawerna. The choice of the food is various and the prize is in line with the Quality. You can eat fish cooked following the polish traditional kitchen. I strongly suggest this restaurant if you want eat good food... More

We arrived for a late lunch at 2.30pm and were made to feel welcome. The cod was in a lovely crisp tempura like batter. The shrimp starter was in a delicious spicy sauce. The halibut dish was exceptionally good in a pesto ad sundried tomato sauce. A dessert of ice cream in a pineapple shell was outstanding . We would... More

3 colleagues and I ate dinner here on a quiet Tuesday evening. The food was excellent, service good if a little slow (but I'm getting impatient in my old age so you can probably ignore that comment!) and the setting was excellent but it felt overpriced. I would cautiously revisit.
