Traditional all round.

Ate here on a late lunch and must say had a surprise. The surroundings are elegant and traditional with starched tablecloths , napkins, and huge welcoming chairs. The food portions were huge and good quality and well priced. Overall good experience.

We were lucky enough to dine in here on new years eve and what a way to spend the last hours of 2015, the restaurant is wood panelled, starched linens and smartly dressed waiters, and you feel its been like that for 100 years, saying that the food is modern, classy, contemporary and thoroughly tasty, every single dish we had... At the end of our amazing trip to Gdansk, this looked like the perfect last stop. The menu claims great traditional food served in a quiet swanky (in the 80's) restaurant... The food itself wasn't bad, but that with the pleasing aesthetics is not enough to go....... The service was slow. The chef refused to remove ginger from one of... More

Great polish meal and drinks for our group, with a good view on the canal. Everything from seafood to beef and great local beers.

We visited Tawerna on a Sunday afternoon, tempted by the variety of traditional and fish dishes on the menu. The food itself was good - particularly the salmon dumplings, and the traditional soup, both from the hot starters section of the menu. However, Tawerna is badly let down by its outdated and poor service. The restaurant was very quiet when... More

Popped in for a couple of drinks just before evening service. Did not realise how decedant the place was until we walked in- but the staff were very welcoming even though we were only after a drink. Lovely place, food seemed to be very much enjoyed but was just too early for us to consider eating a meal at the... More

We went for lunch and were surprised by a very good looking restaurant with white tablecloths . It looked expensive but was in fact reasonable priced. The food was very good. We will definitely return for dinner another time.

We went for a quick beer and saw an appetizer for two that featured 500g of smoked fish. Salmon, trout, mackerel, tartar... What came out was a massive plate of some of the best smoked fish I've had. The menu said it was for two, but the four of us left stuffed with smiles on our faces.

I popped in for late lunch on a warm day, with chilled Chłodnik soup of beetroots veg and yoghurt providing a perfect starter. Lunchtime selection of pierogi w salad leaves , melt in one's mouth flavour, completed the meal. The service was friendly but unobtrusive. Lovely spot for traditional Polish cuisine without the stereotypical heaviness.
