Good Food, but Great Mojitos

My son had a chicken breast marinated in a rose sauce and served with a salad. He thought it average. However, the Mojito he was served was one of the best ever, so the restaurant got an extra star for that. I had mushroom soup with just a few mushrooms in it. Good cafe in the center of the old town. Good atmosphere. A good place to meet. You can also do a little exercise. I recommend the cheesecake.

I really liked this place on slower nights. It's trying to be a piano bar and mostly succeeding unless it gets jammed up with too many customers. The piano player was jolly and takes requests, the drinks are reasonable and the location is one street over from Dlugi Targ facing towards St. Mary's and some of the small, touristy shopping... Good place for a nice informal meal, good food, not really complicated but satisfactory- pancakes with spinach, pasta with various toppings, good shrimps (I know a guy who goes there every time he visits Gdansk to eat their shrimps). Prices moderate, service and atmosphere relaxed, sometimes the service could be more efficient. Very nice decor, but if you're looking for... More

Had breakfast here, very relaxed atmosphere, tourists having breakfast and locals having a "working breakfast". Beautifully presented, tasty plate of scrambled eggs (with cheese, olives, bacon). Cosy environment, waitress very friendly. Hot chocolate was devine.

Went there on a cold night around 9pm and the place was nearly packed but still very cozy and had a great vibe. Very tasteful decorated with a combination of industrial like raw bricks and modern white ceilings. Great combo! Live music added to the great vibe: jazzy piano with female vocals. Not too loud which was good. And the... More

I had a goose for starters, wild boar as main and finished off with a "freshly baked brownie". Nice portions and affordable prices. The staff seemed stressed out by the less than 30 guests that were visiting. Perhaps they didn't expect a busy day, perhaps one of the waitresses were new...? I don't know. The toilets were well hidden so... More

Came here on a wet night when getting out of the rain was more important than anything. Don't be put off by the fact that Mon Balzac is attached to a hotel. It's catering to more than one time visitors and service was good and prompt although we might have been fortunate not to arrive 10 mins after we did,... More
