Went there on a cold night around 9pm and the place was nearly packed but still very cozy and had a great vibe. Very tasteful decorated with a combination of industrial like raw bricks and modern white ceilings. Great combo! Live music added to the great vibe: jazzy piano with female vocals. Not too loud which was good. And the... More

I had a goose for starters, wild boar as main and finished off with a "freshly baked brownie". Nice portions and affordable prices. The staff seemed stressed out by the less than 30 guests that were visiting. Perhaps they didn't expect a busy day, perhaps one of the waitresses were new...? I don't know. The toilets were well hidden so... More

Came here on a wet night when getting out of the rain was more important than anything. Don't be put off by the fact that Mon Balzac is attached to a hotel. It's catering to more than one time visitors and service was good and prompt although we might have been fortunate not to arrive 10 mins after we did,... More

Located in the middle of old city center of Gdansk, Mon Balzac restaurant serves very tasty meals in absolutely fashionable way. Menu is changed daily, most of meals is based on traditional ingredients but served in new interesting variants. Prices are average. Nice choice of wines. Staff is polite and helpful. There is also live music sometimes.

While shopping, my wife asked the owner of an upscale boutique about a restaurant we were considering. You could tell by the look on her face that she was not a fan. When asked where she would go she recommended Mon Balzac. It's a smallish restaurant. We asked about draft beers and then looked at the menu. We had pounded... More

Looked promising but very disappointing. Slow, inattentive service. Waited over an hour for our food. Staff seemed oblivious when we inquired about the status of our meal three times. When it finally arrived, the food was pretty mediocre. Several entrees were even cold. Would not recommend.

Pro's: Central, nice decor, music, food presentation, potion sizes, atmosphere Con's: Cold plates and hence cold food... It's simple physics! inattentive staff My wife and I were taken for a meal as a thank you from another couple so it wasn't polite to complain at the time. We ordered prawns for starter which were very nice and steak for main.... More
