Original and Colorful Food

We spend a late lunch time in a recommended Restaurant that really was wonderful. The service, the atmosphere, the old cave that from outside you do not even imagine what's going on inside. Authentic food, not for me eating rabbit or deer, but pig, chicken and beef were very good, also the last... read more

Hidden away a mere 10 minute walk from the Old Town Square we stumbled across this place by accident and found one of the Gems of Prague. If authentic Czech cuisine and a romantic ambience are your thing be sure to visit this place. A large and varied menu which supports massive portions and a very reasonable, well cheap, wine... This restaurant/pub is perfect for anyone looking for a more chilled out vibe to enjoy a great meal. The starters were amazing. Spinach soup and garlic soup, served with a huge basket of bread. The mains were very impressive , the portions are massive. The pig knuckle was king size and the vegetables were just right. Along with our meal... More

We wanted to try some authentic Czech food and found this place to be the right choice. Off the main track and down into a cellar. Locals seem to be placed in the front of the restaurant with visitors out of the way but this did not detract from our experience. We chose a traditional Czech platter which included duck,... More

this is a great local restaurant, filled with friendly staff, lots of great beers and amazing food and service. Its a short taxi ride out of the city but worth it. A great place where the locals come to drink, eat and catch up with tier Friends.

Had a lovely meal here, Hubby had sauerkraut & sausage soup followed by a huge plate of ribs. I didn't order a starter but they gave me complimentary bread & dripping with bacon bits, which may not sound nice but was delicious! I had ribs too with jacket potatoe & sour cream. Portions were huge & delicious & service was... More

This restaurant was recommended in a review for the hotel we stayed at as it is just around the corner from it (Hotel UNIC). Medieval styled but not run down or scabby looking which I felt some other medieval style places looked! Was a cosy and warm place, perfect in December. Food was fantastic and great value for money. I... More

The restaurant can be a bit difficult to find. You have to into the building, open a door, then down a lot of steps, but it is all worth it. It is decorated like a medival castle, quite fancy. The food is perfect. Good value for money. I got a 1/2 bottle of vine, water, a nice spinach soup, then... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
