Good local food!

My wife and I were recommended this restaurant by our hotel which was close by. A good choice as we both had a very good meal. We went for traditional food as it was our first night, and enjoyed the Pork fillet between two potato pancakes, and the Deer goulash. Nice introduction to local food. The... read more

I was looking for a restaurant in the proximity of the hotel and we found this recommendation from trip advisor: so we gave it a go. The restaurant is in the basement of building and it is quite dark inside - which was a bit off-putting. But then we sat down - had few beers and enjoyed the food. We... More

Definitely try the sauerkraut soup and the Czech garlic soup. The brewmasters goulash was delicious. Good Budvar beers.

Had dinner here a few nights ago. I thoroughly recommend the royal plate, with duck beef and pork. Get some dumplings to soak up gravy. Delicious. The food makes you feel like you are having a medieval feast and the portions are massive. Service was good also. Very good price to quality ratio.

Advantages: - Interesting decor and setup - Food was pretty good. Not the best that we had in Prague, but pretty good! - Perhaps the only restaurant in Europe that we visited that gave bread at the table that was free. - Very friendly and efficient waitress. Disadvantages: - This was a big one for me. While there is no... More

This restaurant is in a side street, a bit away from the typical Prague tourist sites, but still very much in the city center. After going down a set of stairs, you come into the medieval themed restaurant in the basement. The food was decent and was billed as typically Czech. Service was fast. Overall, the experience felt a bit... More

You enter U Sadlu by going down a few flights of stairs into a basement feeling restaurant. Far from feeling dull, it added a bunch to the atmosphere. The food was excellent, and the service was also exceptional. We enjoyed the heck out of our visit and meal.

Very local place, great garlic soup and chicken broth. Pity the waitress seemed very disinterested (maybe because we only spoke English). If you can get over the service, its a nice local place to try.

The real driver of the rating was the wonderful service we received. On a very busy Friday night the owner managed to squeeze us in and the result was a great evening of good food and atmosphere. One has to know where to go to find this place as you will not stumble upon it by accident; however once you... More

But what quality food and service. These hidden gems are amazing. Our tour leader Agata organised a dinner which when we saw the outside were a bit dubious about what was in store but once we had descended into the bowels of the restaurant we were quite relieved. Very much in the vein of Dirty Dick's minus the MC and... More
